This kinda of pertains to the original topic a little bit. I just recently learned that someone can effectively steal a raid, when they get the id, then come back the next day with a new group and leave out everyone else... Is there anyway to stop that besides just running with guild/select friends?
Any ideas about how to change the saving system so that a random guy can't take over a raid?

guy, someone would have to be from your raid and then they invite the rest of the people and use that ID.

Off the top of my head, there has been a couple of occasions where people managed to "steal" a raid ID by inviting a player with a particular raid ID to a group, quickly converting it to a raid and then have someone in the raid zone in. Whoever zones in then get saved to the particular raid ID and can proceed to start a new raid to clear that ID.
Usually it was done because the player, whose ID was "stolen", had previously stolen another raid ID himself, or because he or his guild have been acting like jerks towards the rest of the realm community.

It resets all regular instances, 5 man heroics, 10 mans and 25 mans can't be manually reset.
Does not reset 5-man heroics. Those stay on the 1 day timer.

I thought you don't get saved to raids until you kill a boss. So if everyone zones in, the others will not get saved to any raid ID until you actually kill a boss.
That being said, what happens when 2 people saved to the same raid ID start separate raids and run at the same time?
If you enter a raid ID with a boss dead in it, you are saved as soon as you enter.
In the second instance, "This instance save is full".
