Random Name Generator not subject to Naming Rules?
Return to board index
Post by

Looking into creating an alt on Rexxar, I played around with the name randomizer... It came up with these;
Appel@#$(certain 3 letter word depicting homosexuals)
Passive
Lolnooze
Thor
Maid
Corn
All of these, I believe, are against naming conventions; I haven't read them in a while, but i believe there was a rule against using words as a name, and against using major figures? It seems a bit odd, then, for Blizzard's own random name generator to break these rules.
Has anyone else ever noticed some somewhat inappropriate names in the randomizer?

Using a word is perfectly acceptable. And a name coinciding with a word isn't an uncommon occurrence.
Also, only names which are trademarked are not allowed, for legality purposes. I see no trademarked names there.

Passive is a perfectly appropriate name for RP realms. I think you misunderstand the naming rules.
Like I said, a name coinciding with an English word is common. Ever hear of somebody named Daisy, or Jade? What's disallowed on RP realms is over-the-edge leetspeak names like Bbqdippinsauce.
