AoE tanking help

Hi there.
I would like to have some help to learn to be better at AoE tanking. As i level up, i try (with the help of my trusty holy priest) to learn instances as i encounter them. The other day, we decide to give gun'drak a try. I was 76, she was 75 and we got a 77 def warrior, a 80 DK and a 80 mage.
First thing, with each fight with 3+ mobs, the DK and mage immediatly started with blizzard and death and decay. All i could manage was a single thunderclap, so, each and every time, all mobs except from skull and X would go on them. I know those were competeing for top dps in charts (and frankly, when computing on all an instance you burst with AoE, i personnaly think those ratings are worth 0) and that i was kinda 4 levels below them.
But as my main is a mage too, and i dare to think i know about aggro and all, i always wait for when i know my blizzard wont draw mobs on me, i never use it right at the start (well, except on non-elite trash that wont survive a single blizzard), but when i blizzard, i see on omen that it does not often compete for treat with the warrior tank.
So, does thunderclap really manage to get AoE aggro on you and it didnt because they were higher lv, or else, how do you manage to keep mobs on you when you have trigger happy dps ?
Btw, we wiped once, they teached me the instance pretty good and it went very well, only the AoE things bothered me.

You're never going to be able to hold aoe aggro as a 76 warrior over an 80 DK and 80 Mage that AoE right off the bat. They are probably decently geared and have 4 levels over you. Also you should use not only TC but Shockwave as well, and alternate between the 2 as they come up. I'd throw Cleaves in there as well and grab yourself the cleave glyph.
Once you're 80 with some decent gear it gets much easier. Remember you use BOTH TC and SW, and with cleave spams with Shield Slams, you should be holding solid aggro.

AoE tanking as a warrior is hard. Like he said once your higher and better geared, get the sunder armor glyph tab target and spam devistate, works with the sunder armor glyph. Throw in some TC maybe some cleaves and you should have a much better time with the AoE.

Well, thanks for the input.
In the case i mentionned, i need like 1 or 2 hits in to do a SW after a TC, and the AoE's were hitting right there, before my SW. With improved charge, i usually open with a shield block / shield slam, followed by a TC, and the rest depend on the situation, like revenge to get S&B for the chance at he free slam as well as the free HS form the glyph.
At Lv 80, i still hesitate about the other glyph i'll se between the one that gives 2 sunders in 1 hit, the one that do a sunder on 2 targets or the cleave one. I already have the shield bloc and revenge glyphs.
So, at Lv80, while comparably geared with AoE dps', will those tools (TC, SW, cleave) as well as alt tabbing devastates / things will reliably hold aggro, or will it still be a hard thing for a warrior ?

You should have enough rage if you have improved charge for both a Thunderclap and SW back to back while getting the initial hit from the mobs. Also note that you shouldn't use SW AND Shield Block together, as they are redundant. I generally open up with a charge and TC, then shockwave the mobs. I usually start cleaving there and wait till SW ends to use shield block. By the time I have Shield Block up its time to TC again. So essentially you've hit the pack with 2x TCs, a SW, and at least one Cleave.
Lately I've stopped using shield block just to get some more rage in the lower level heroics. I go to straight TC/SW followed by Cleaves and Shield Slams.
