I've been browsing through the items, and this is what I believe to be the best tankadin set in game.

Think it is?

Um, you included 5/5 T7... there MUST be something better.
That was 5/5 T7.5, not T7. It is the 25 man raid version in there, not the 10 man version.

Tanking gear is always situational.
Heavy hitting boss? Patchwerk OTing? Stam and effective health is king. Faster hitting bosses, multiple adds? Block value becomes an increasingly more effective stat. Trash or OT work? Threat and by extention DPS stats begin to take higher priority.
The notion of a "best tank gear in the game" set is flawed, because maximizing your taking ability involves switching out gear on an almost encounter by encounter basis.

Btw, what enchants are you planning to use with that gear?
660/689 defense, + 16 from cloak.

meh, you can get another 22 defense to chest, or the 20 defense to shield. Or, is you gem 2 enduring forest emeralds, then the 16 def to cloak will be the only enchant you need.

I see your 690.7 score and raise it by 8 points

blademeld, it was not about the points, its about what I thought was the best gear. If I wanted the highest score I'd just put it in the weight scales and use the top ones.

I realize that, honest.
My first attempt was doing that actually, then it hit less than 600 defense.
But in my defense: more mitigation through armor and block, and threat > avoidance.
Expertise > hit at almost 2:1 until dodge capped.
defense, stamina, str > 2 sockets

As a promotion of my spreadsheet, (which is taking human base values btw) and using 2 24 stam gems for your net gain Assuming 20000 (fairly "light" boss) damage per 2 seconds.
Net Values:
Yours Mine
1.464% Avoidance 69 Block Value
164 Effective Health 0.878 Block Rating
0.143 survival time 48 TPS
Eh...

Blade, I would take 1.5% avoidance and health over .9% avoidance and threat, I have never had threat problems.
