Novel Approach to DK Tanking

With the axing of 2hd Tanking weapons it seems an appropriate time to put forth this, for the masses to pick apart.
The disadvantages of dual wielding as a DK tank are obvious, a hefty amount of extra damage from parry-hasting or the allocation of large amounts of equipment itemization to expertise.
However I have yet to see a reasonable debate on the concept of a DK tanking with a single tank itemized one hander versus the average end game 2-hander. Is the sacrifice in stamina (and depending on weapon, hit or agil) too much to justify this. Are DK tank specs that reliant on their strike damage at end game to generate sufficient threat (I'm under the impression most tanking builds right now generate their threat through DnD and other spell abilities that primarily scale on AP, as apposed to strikes).
So what do you folks think, is the sacrifice too much or is this the future of DK tanking?

You answered your own question in your post. With a single one hander you're going to get parry-gibbed, and your abilities damage scales with weapon damage. If you're going to only use one weapon why wouldn't it be a two hander? It's more damage, better stats, and slower speed.
I think that's what you were getting at but I'm having a really hard time trying to figure out what it is you're even trying to get across

please tell me how you would get more parry-gibbed with a single one hander than a two hander, or do you simple mean using a 1.6-2.4 weapon is signifigantly worse than a 3.4 in terms of parry-gibbing (it seems that'd be a bit over the top to me if so).
The difference is while you get more stats on a 2hder they aren't the same kind of stats. There are plenty of end game one handers itemized for tanking stats, with the cancellation of 2hd tanking weapons that aren't really any 2 handers itemized that way (minus the like lvl 75 green quest reward 2hd axe).
@Stokesey I specifically detailed I wasn't talking about DW I'm talking about using a single one hander.
