Doubt on Questhelper

Why does QuestHelper takes such a long time to load on my main character?
By such a long time I mean almost 4 minutes. And during that time, the game is almost unplayable. After that I'm back to the usual 60 fps on Dalaran (5 during QH load).
However it only happens on my main. All my alts, the load is instantaneous, sometimes I don't even see it...
Any idea what is causing that?

It takes long to load even when I don't have quests...
Yeah, it's the newest QH, I'm using Curse client.
And the extra load time happens anywhere.... :s

You can also try trashing the QuestHelper savedvariables file to see if that helps.

also what level are your alts at? the higher your toons level the more data questhelper has to be able to access thus requires on load.

It is because QH loads the entire quest database each time you load your client.
I would suggest only turning on Questhelper when you need it, you can get another addon that allows you to turn on/off addons without exiting the game. (Addon Control Panel is one of these).
Zorba is working on a rewrite of the entire codebase that he took over from the original author which will help most of the issues people have with the footprint of the addon. I also would suggest never loading into Dalaran with QH active. Blizzard recently (~month ago) decreased the amount of time the client get's to send a successful "ok the client is in the game" message to the server, if this time is passed then the client times out. This created an initial problem with QH and loading into Dalaran because of the amount of information the client has to load for the town to begin with (the town, NPCs, players and Crystalsong Forrest). It is basically three zones being loaded, sewers, town and the rest of the zone (this can be seen by there being 3 sets of coordinates, one for each section).
While QH is a great addon that is helpful to the point of depending on it, the memory footprint was too great for me and I moved onto a better system until QH's rewrite is complete.
Carbonite Quest
is a great replacement. The quest version is free and there is a more encompassing addon that does cost money, the free version is what you want.
It does work slightly different than the QH we all love, but everything is adjustable to your desires. If something about it bugs you chances are it can be changed if you look around the settings menu and take the time to learn how to use it. If there is something you do not understand I will do my best to guide you, and if I can not help the people over at the official site can.

Second on the plug for ACP. It's invaluable to me as I use almost literally every time I play.
