Trap Mastery?

Like many raiding hunters I have respecced to Survival now that 3.0.8 has arrived.
So far i'm doing pretty well but after looking at the build which one of the better Hunters on my server is using, I noticed a differance i'm curious about. Trap Mastery.
I never really use Immolation trap when i'm raiding, it seems like it would be too much of a pain combined with Sniper Training. Theres two main reasons I can see for why Trap Mastery would be valuable, if someone could confirm / explain wether or not these make the talent worth it and why, that would be much appreciated.
1
- Immolation trap is a Dps increase despite time lost shooting at Sniper range while placing the trap (Wtb Immolation trap arrow)?
2
- Making sure Lock and Load is procced as often as physicaly possible?
(Serpant sting ticks every 3 sec, with a 6% chance per tick to proc, so on average it takes 16.6 repeating ticks to proc, or 50 seconds, with a large RNG element)
Based on that math, i'm going to assume it's the 2nd reason which makes Trap Mastery worth it. If so, I should run to melee range, drop an Immol. trap everytime it's off CD then run back past 30yd mark and continue?

yeah look up trap dancing builds for mine I am going to go get the talent that gives traps less cooldown and not sniper training since i will never get the bonus.
That doesn't make much sense to me, Lock and Load has a 30s cooldown, so if you reduce trap CD to 24 seconds the second trap wont proc L&L, and you wont get another til 48 sec (instead of 30) after the first, when you drop your third.
also if i am not mistaken then the Serpent sting proc and the trap proc are on different cooldowns... so i think it is viable
Now that is intresting, is that a bug we can expect to be fixed? and if it is will Trap Mastery / Trap dancing still be worth it?
