Tried to run a PUG Nexxus last night. I should have seen the disaster when there was another hunter in the group specced BM!
Even worse, the tank couldn't hold aggro for the life of him. I dropped after the killed the 2nd boss but up to that point I was MDing on every cool down and FDing on every cool down, it really killed my DPS, by 800! It got to a point where it was just easier having AoTV on at all times, otherwise, I hit ES and I'd instantly pull aggro from the tank if I hadn't MD'd prior.
So, next time I'm not going to group with a BM.... It's just a bad omen.
Nexxus H is one of the easiest heroics, so sad.
thats the most ignorant thing Ive ever heard and I think I lost a few brain cells reading it. the BM hunter didnt kill your run.
You should be MDing and figning on CD anyways. That didnt kill your dps by 800. You did.
Be smart. Dont be ignorant please. Dont promote false thinking. BM is inferior in DPS now you can say that. Dont say that because there was a BM hunter in the run it was failure. As far as I or anyone else knows your bad attitude coulda been the cause for the the failure.
I bet you chewed out the tank and the hunter the whole time you were there too. Productive I must say

I think I am understanding what you are saying, maybe, assuming you are leaving a whole lot of details out.
I am assuming, that you are saying you are running from a pug with a BM because it indicates that the group doesn't know what it is doing? This, I assume means that both the BM in question and the tank and possibly the healer were all in the same guild? Or spoke to each other as friends or something?
Even with these assumptions, you still ran nexus like a spoiled kid.
Firstly, you should always be MD-ing when it is up.
Second, h-nexus IS as you say, one of the easiest heroics. As such you are quite possibly running with a group of new-to-80s. So that is even more reason to MD and not worry if your dps is a little lower, because if your tank just turned 80 it is easier for a well-geared player to pull aggro.
Lastly, there is nothing wrong with frequent FDs, but if you dont like to, install omen like an adult and back off a bit on your damage when you notice you are starting to pull threat.
It isnt the group's job to make sure that you do max damage every time to stroke your e-peen. It is YOUR job to be a viable member of a group, and that means doing everything in your power to maintain an low level of threat. Otherwise, you give everyone else a bad name.
If you dont like it, dont pug, and run with a group that you know is well-geared and shares your mentality.
Out of curiosity, how much more dps were you doing than the BM you are complaining so much about? And how well geared was he in comparison? When I saw this post, I expected it to be about that

I for one would truly appreciate if the OP would clarify his original post, as I and everyone else who has posted seem to see a similar pattern.
"I should have seen the disaster when there was another hunter in the group specced BM! "
The remainder of your post following this statement described nothing which the BM hunter did wrong, but that you were pulling aggro from the tank.
This leads me to 2 possible conclusions:
1) The BM hunter really DID do something terrible, and you simply neglected to mention it, or
2) The BM hunter did NOTHING wrong and you are irrationally assigning blame for a poor run to him.
If anything what you have described in your post would lead me to believe that you were not playing YOUR hunter effectively, as you were not watching your own threat and pulling aggro from the tank. This is why I hope you will clarify your earlier post as I am certain this is not the image that you wished to describe.

BM doesn't automatically equal noob, no matter who says it. A well played BM is still good dps, even if the spec is fubar atm. A poorly played SV is still NOT great dps, even if it is the most powerful spec atm.
And no amount of super dps is going to help your group, if you don't actually KILL the mobs. If the tank can't hold agro, your results are going to be bad, even if you are burning down the dps meters.

OMG, what an ignorant noob huntard.
My
hunter
is BM specced and I get invited every night by my guild to run Naxx25. We have 3 more hunters, but only 1 is raiding most of the time. He specced surv after the patch. But still, specc dosn't make or break our character.
YOU BREAK IT.
You lost the 800dps (from maybe 1200 that you do) because you don't know how to play and because you went with a wannabe tank. Not because you had a BM in your group.
Our guild has some crazy DPSers. Before the patch me and the other hunter and 1 lock were top3, but now, after patch and after we got some really good DKs, both him (SV is supposed to be OP if you listen to many ppl) and I are somewhere in the top 5-8 as dmg. He usually does more dps then me, but depending on the fight we do more or less (static or dinamic fight). But the fact that I didn't respec or that I go BM in Naxx25 doesn't make or break the party. It's just a matter of player skill.
I ran the start of a heroic a few days ago with a rogue who did 900dps. Does that mean that all rogues are a disaster? Rogues in our guild top DPS meters on some fights.
So before you start blaming all BMs for the failure of your noob PUG, think again.
that was so win
