How big is the Dps loss if you ovewirte the ES DoT?

i always would spam Three ES in a row when LnL procs because it produces the most damage (or atleast from what i can see).

When you just spam it, you overwrite the last tick of 2/3 of the explosive shots. Every tick is equal, so you are cutting 2/9 of your LnL proc damage out. On the other hand, you are getting the explosive back on cooldown faster, which means more explosives in the long run.
Just from instinct, I don't believe it would be worth it to spam to get explosive off cooldown 3 seconds faster on a LnL proc. This comes with almost no mathematical proof however.
lol, though i dont think it would be 2/9 of the damage considering the ticks dont hit for to much or am i mistaken?

i didnt know that the ticks hit so hard >.> huh werid i guess i have been gimping my dps a bit then LOL
~just ran 25 VoA and i topped with about 200dps more cause i wasnt clipping ticks~
wiped the first time then i didnt clip my ticks
