Yes, Orgrimmar would be literally unbeatable with only one entrance. Blizz would have made the ultimate fortress for the Horde.

The lay out of the cities don't matter! What matters are the toons on the raid. If you got 80 people in greens 10 levels below what level they are=Epic fail. If you got 30 people in some T-6/Brutal gear, you're gonna get some where. Not to mention what time you raid. If you raid at peek hours your dead. You raid in the middle of the night when people are asleep you win.
The layout of the city matters a bit. Like UC... you go through the Sewers and you're 11 seconds from the Lady. Stormwind, you gotta run through 3 - 5 of the parts.
That could
greatly
deplete your group.

I always chuckle at the number of entrances = the ease of defense argument. Why would you be sending your force through more than one entrance anyway? For example, lets take the 2 people 1 entrance and 2 people 10 entrance situation again. Lets say you have 10 people. If you send all 10 against the two, you're very likely to steamroll them with little to no effort. However, if you split up your group into 10 groups of 1, the single group of 2 defenders will out-man every single one of your little groups, possibly even destroying all 10 before you have the change to regroup.
In situations such as this, concentration of power and quick movement are key, not some great tactical strategy of flanking and destruction.
Blackboy0 has a point, though. Stormwind is very hard to destroy simply because of it's length. However, attacking through IF, getting to the tram (A mere 1.5 rooms away from the entrance) and then taking the tram to the king (Another .5 of an area) will by-pass that. Just because the front way is easier to get to doesn't make it better.

The boats to Stormwind are methods of transportation. There is only one entrance to which they port - the harbor. Same deal with Thunderbluff, both elevators enter at the same bluff.

Org is impossible to raid.
I've attempted it three times with scrubs and get PvPed the crap out every time. GG :)
On a side note, Silvermoon, TB, and UC have been pretty desolate. Been that way on other servers too? (I'm on Silvermoon US)

On my realm, I have killed all the bosses of the alliance in 1 hour. Twice! The ally have not yet been able to kill ours.

I haven't tried it yet since I play Horde, but can Alliance players use the Orb of Teleportation in the Ruins of Lordaeron to get close to the boss in Silvermoon City?

Clearly Blizzard just knows the Horde is better at defending their cities and don't need a bunch of NPCs to do the job.
