My most epic loot was getting the Cudgel of Consecration at the end of Heroic MgT on my Prot pallywhen it first came out. I had the blue CoT sword but I didn't have the threat I needed to tank the t5 stuff my guild was doing.
This was pre BC when my guild was doing MC/BWL, anyway we were doing Ragnaros and we killed him. Our guild leader linked two Stormrage leggings, and as the druid with the most DKP i was already happy that i was gona get my Tier 2 leggings. But he gave the druid under me the 1st leggings, but i was like oh well there is a 2nd one, and then i looked and seen myself gain Bloodfang leggings. I was like wtf, i was very mad, but the next week they dropped and i became happy again, but i realized how stupid my giuld leader was.

My most epic drop was getting Zin'rokh, Destroyer of Worlds off of Hakkar on my Hunter. This was way back in the day before the expansions of course. I was the only Hunter on the Horde side to get it and only a few Warriors had it at the time and I loved how rediciulously big it was. It actually clipped through the ground as I ran it was so big on my Troll. It was great being able to say the infamous phrase to jealous Warriors: HUNTER WEP!
Gonna have to go with the Sonic Spear after running SL for 30+ times without even seeing it. Thank god that there was nobody else in the party who wanted it, if I had lost that roll... oh man.
One of my most epic moments was quite a long time ago. A group of my friends and I decided to try and farm Baron Rivendare (for like the 20th time that week) for the leg piece of our armor sets. In my case, it was the Shadowcraft Pants and a friend of ours that was a hunter, was hoping for Beaststalker. For some reason, my poor rogue always got shafted when it came to getting gear like this. This night was no exception. We make our way to the Baron and get him down. We pause for a moment and hope and pray that my pants, or at least the hunter's pants, would drop. There were screams of anguish over Ventrilo as we looted. The Wildheart Kilt had dropped. Our druid already had his pair, so he greed rolled, as did the Paladin and the Lock... and then the hunter rolled need. I said, "No, you don't! You don't actually *need* that!" and I would not leave empty handed, so I rolled. And I won, by one. And just like that I ninja'd the Wildheart Kilt fair and square from the hunter. And I wore that kilt. For MONTHS. Mainly because I never found anything better. But I loved it. It went with me to UBRS, Molten Core, Onyxia, and even BWL. I distictly remember fighting up to Nefarian in it. Good times. All the other rogues thought I was crazy. I was even bestowed the name "Wildheart DPS" by one of our guildies. For this reason, it was and still is one of the most epic pieces of gear I've won. My rogue still carries it with her, ready to wear at a moment's notice. <3
Armageddon last week =( damn me for being holy!
