First, we should've started out on an even playing field. Meaning, sunwell geared players shouldn't have a leg up on lvl 80 quest items. They did a good job with that in BC. Second, BC was waaaay harder than WOTLK appears to be heading. You had attunement quests before you could even step foot into dungeons. Now, people have Naxxramas on farm and Heroics done. The game is beaten by several guilds in just 2 weeks. Up until the raid dungeons, almost all of the boss fights that I come across I don't even need to read the strategies b/c they are still easy peasy enough to be considered tank and spank. Further, the bosses that do require a strategy read are pathetic. Every player is green geared or epic lvl 70 geared.... come on. If you can down boss content with that, this game has become a joke. Blizzard has taken away from the hardcore gamer and geared this play to the common casual player. They left "achievements" for the hardcore player. Wooptidoo I did Naxxramas with 8 players! Dan down the road who can barely heal anybody has the same gear as me. Tom who doesn't even know what taunt is has the same weapon as me. ETC. It is ridiculous.

Are you serious? I can't tell. If so, I feel bad for you. Go play Everquest.

It's good that normal is as easy as it is. Everyone should be able to enjoy WOW, from the noobiest noob to the hardcore expert.
However either heroic mode needs to be really challenging, or they need to add
Legendary Mode
instances which take the challenge up a notch.

And to that I say "Bravo and Kudos!" It's about time Blizzard realized that a huge majority of it's players don't play this game 24/7 and prefer to have fun rather than aggravation while playing WoW.
I like the direction that Blizzard has taken. Maybe now after 2 years at Level 80 I can actually see and experience end game without pulling my hair out farming rep and doing attunement quests and all I'll need is 10 of my good friends as opposed to trying to scrape together 25 people for a raid. Some of us just want to play and have a good time and now we have the opportunity to do so. I intend to sit back and enjoy the ride.

1. I'm not a hardcore player, but one that enjoys a challenge. I enjoy defeating hardcore content in a semi-casual amount of time. That's why I have played WoW for so long.
2. Heroics and every 25 man dungeon downed after 2 weeks? Come on... All the fun to gearing up and getting prepared for a raid is gone. Just go in there with your quest greens or lvl 70 epics and tank spank it all until it's dead. Yay fun. Thought your guild was special b/c your guild could do what some super newb couldn't? Even pretty organized guilds? Not anymore. Everyone can do it.
3. I don't really care. :) I was just stating things as factual. It is ridiculous thus far of what I've seen. I do hope that blizzard provides some more challenging content that has kept me here for the past 4 years.
4. I understand why Blizz did it, yes to appease the 90% of the casual players that want to see end game content and actually see the final bosses that you see on the commercials. I just don't care about them. :P I guess I'd be playing console single player games if I were those people... maybe even look up some cheats.

Oh, really? Attunements
were
acting like timesinks to keep players playing. Partially because BT was introduced too early. And
was the
Kara attunement hard? No. Boring, time consuming, but not hard.
P.S. I don't think that T8 and T9 will be that easy. Remember that T7 is entry level raids.
Although your opinion is a valid one, it still doesn't completely dispel mine. Yes, attunements
could
be classified as timesinks, but to many players, they were so much more. Attunements generally familiarize players with the lore. In theory, you could do Kara post-2.3 not knowing who Medivh is. Before so, you learned (albeit somewhat forcibly) that he is the master of Karazhan, and that he is responsible for the Horde's presence on Azeroth.
And along with their classification as timesinks, they're also barriers. Some attunements are put in place to test the mettle of players, to ensure that they are ready to take on the challenge of a raid situation. So, as I've stated, people don't come rushing in with quest greens expecting to just breeze through.
If I come off as elitist, I'm sorry, but I view raiding as something that should be prepared for. The first thing I did when I dinged 70 was to get the attunement, and then grind instances until I got my D3 set, fully gemmed that out, and started doing baby heroics to get level 80 blues and baby badge gear.
And guess what? You don't have to be hardcore to accomplish that. A few hours a day is all it took to run an instance three or four times searching for those pre-raid drops. Then, in your casual, limited timeframe, you could slowly stock up on supplies, and maybe start on the attunement quests, knocking out a step each day until you're ready.
I'd take an undergeared attuned player before an overgeared player that isn't attuned (unless the difference is vast and gaping), because at least the attuned player put forth effort to be where they were. Anyone can lose 10 arena matches a week and get epics. Even monkeys can be trained to do that.
Flame away, casuals. :)
1. Medivh brought the Orcs to Azeroth, the rest of the Horde are natives.
2. Monkeys could do attunement quests just as well. First and foremost, they are a timesink. Although they can be helpful to learn lore and show aptitude for raiding.

To me attunement is a total waste of time. How does grinding attunement quests seperate a pro from a noob skill wise?
What Blizz is doing now is bringing the gap closer between hardcore and casual players. This is a good move to a lot of players who don't have the time a hardcore player has but yet is still able to enjoy most of the fun WOW has to offer.
Really, at the end of the day I just want to down famous bosses together with my pals.
If you feel that WOTLK kills the prestige that hardcore raiders once had, I just want to tell you this, Hardcore raiders is nothing more then just having more time then average, it doesnt mean they have more skills or whatsoever.

Wrongola partially. And you don't have to have time to have a hardcore attitude about something. You can be dedicated and disciplined with the time you allot. To me, that's what equals hardcore. I've played with several players that are mediocre in skills of listening, coordination, teamwork, instincts, and preparation. If you led several raids, you'd instantly be able to tell the quality of players. It's not just a "time" issue. There is skill, make no mistake.
The point is that this skill requirement "bar" has been lowered. That original higher level of skill requirement made the game fun for some of us. And since I'm complaining, maybe that's just me. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy that everyone will be able to see the game's end stuff. And to negate what I said previously, maybe I am just sad that I no longer will be challenged to the level that I require (hopefully Arthas will). However, you can bet that this will affect the hardcore guilds b/c those players will quit the boring unchallenging game if it continues down that path.
