Well the way I see it. Going to a Movie twice will very likely cost you more than $15. Going to an amusement park once will be $15 or more. So in the same amount you may be paying for a single instance of entertainment, you're paying that much for a whole month's worth of entertainment. Even if you play one hour a day, over a month that's $15 for 30 hours of entertainment, ten times the time you would spend in the average movie.
So yeah... downtime or no, it still equals out to a good deal ,in my opinion.

Ahh the age old banter about uptime and compensation. I'll take 90%. I work at a Fortune 50 company, and we don't have 90% network uptime.
Check the EULA. You agree to accept as much downtime, server instability, hair loss, or weight gain as Blizzard cares to throw your way. And, you have to scroll through it and affirm that you did in fact read the thing each time a new patch drops.
Truth is, at 0% uptime, you agree that Blizzard still owes you nothing. Yes, you're paying for a service, but you explicitly agree that the only way you can hold them in any way accountable for anything is by simply canceling your account.
looks like he read the one thing thta everyone else in the world just scrolled past
woooooooooooooooooooooow
10. Online Duration. The Game is an 'on-line' game that must be played over the Internet through the Service, as provided by Blizzard Entertainment Europe. It is your entire responsibility to secure an Internet connection and all fees related thereto shall be at your own charge. Blizzard Entertainment Europe will use reasonable efforts to provide the Service all day, every day. However, Blizzard Entertainment Europe reserves the right to temporarily suspend the Service for maintenance, testing, replacement and repair of the telecommunications equipment related to World of Warcraft, as well as for transmission interruption or any other operational needs of the system.

With all of the regular down times + bug fixes + plus patch issues + any other unforeseen things that might drop the servers, you could easily say we "miss out" on at least $10 - $15 worth of game play.
It's subjective to say that you've missed out on 10-15 worth of gameplay. What if the real cost is $16 a month, but they're deciding to charge $1 less for you to deal with maintenance. In any case, the great majority of downtime was something we knew would happen every tuesday.
