Hey Samo,
Can you make a suggestion on the fastest way to get be appropriately geared for heroics? Should I just run some non heroics for a while, or craft a few items, or.... I can heal hUK, but have to drink a lot and chug some mana pots. Are there other heroics I can just rely on skill for instead of gear?
Also, do you have any guidelines on min stats to be able to do all of the heroics without much trouble?

The general rule I follow is to get
crafted
and
quest items
first.
Then work on farming dungeons/rep.

Hey Samano,
I've been reading you're thread since you started it. It's been wonderfully helpful for me in building my spec and gearing my disc priest since 3.0 came out. Thank you for putting so much time and effort into this spec!.
I also wanted to post some healing numbers from my 25 man naxx run tonight. Normally I wouldn't even look at HPS/healing meters because I was always dead last. So yesterday I installed the "disc priest Recount" that I found here on the forum. I was thinking it wasn't going to improve my numerical performance by much. "So what the heck" I said and ran it during Sapphiron and KT. Here are some screen shots of the reports:

I'm gonna play around with it some more, let me know what you think!
(I used it on those fights because I knew the shields would be getting eaten because of Aura/FB's. I also use PW:S glyph and have 3/3 Aegis)

Ah sorry. I just tried to get the data and I could't get those individual fights up again. I do have the overall data from the full run though. Next time I go I will make sure to SS the effective healing numbers.

http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Khaz%27goroth&n=Cathliance
, is my toon, my spec will change once i get my get some more gear to take out the imp DS. Having no trouble getting the spell power recommended for naxx and still hoping for a few drops in H AN and H Nexus, just wondering tho how i could get my crit up higher tho.
http://www.wowhead.com/?item=37242
will replace my current waist
and
http://www.wowhead.com/?item=37172
with my gloves
tho
http://www.wowhead.com/?item=37169
has nice SP but no crit as does my current weapon does but the mp5 is nice and helps alot.
just wondering if the new waist and gloves will add enough crit. Do i need to get gear from somewhere else to replace the SP with needed crit, or should i continue upping the spell power to replace the lacking of crit for naxx?
the help is much appreciated
edit: grammer and the question in last paragraph
Your 2 trinkets are the weakest points I see.
Arcane Revitalizer
Wont be used very much during raids/boss fights
Soul Preserver
gives spellpower, however the additional effect has a reaallly low proc rate (~2%). So about every 50 spells cast you will get a proc. Additionally, Disc spells are pretty efficient. Persoanlly, I dont think I would even need the mana from it.
Try and replace one with
forge ember
for sure.
If you havent done the quest/sold the item yet
Cannoneer's Fuselighter
would also make a good replacement.
Those 2 would give you
3.06%
crit
Giving you a total of 22.5% crit
Some of your gear has a bit too much haste for my taste. But wouldnt worry about it, your gear looks good enough for raiding. It will most likely be replaced by crit gear in a raid or 2 anyways.

Hi dudes!
Due to the changes in 3.0.8 I've updated my trinket list. Flow of Knowledge isn't worth for PvE anymore :(
Greetings

I've got some question which stat brings which change...like, how much Crit or Mana, etc does 1 point in INT give...things of that nature...I haven't found a good site that explains this yet.
Also, what enchants should I get for my gear...(Greater Mana Restoration or Powerful Stats for Chest, etc...) If you could help me out with that, I'd be very happy...
Here's a link to my armory

Thanks
Recommend you get the mod ratingbuster :

summarises things like that for you on the item tooltips.

You have a LOT of haste gear.
Between Crit and Haste, a Disc priest should always choose Crit.
It just so happens that you dont really see both crit and haste on gear, its either one or the other.
Drop some of the haste gear you have in exchange for Crit. In truth, you shouldnt even really roll on Haste gear unless no one else wants it.
Alot of Disc's "extras" are based around crit.. Divine Aegis, Rapture from Divine Aegis, Inspiration, etc.
Sure. haste will decrease your cast time and your GCD (although you need a rather large amount), but you will be trading a load of crit in exchange. 2 of Disc's most powerful abilities (Penance and PW:S) are COOLDOWN based not cast speed based, also many abilities are instant cast (Renew, PoM) so haste doesnt do that much good in comparison to Crit.
Also....you dont need so much spirit. Get more Int. It's a much better regen stat because of replenishment and shadowfriend returning mana based on max mana. Not to mention it also provides crit.
Too long didn't read version:
Drop Haste, get more Crit.
Drop spirit in place of Int.
Grats on
Staff of Restraint
btw
Although I agree on the jest of your post I disagree that haste is always worse, its actually a really valuable stat. I am still gunning for a lot of haste and even giving up crit for it in order to be more effective :D but that just is my opinion.
Kisses
Honestly haste is pretty trash for a disc priest because we have so many passive haste buffs already we need to stack crit. I mean with BT (Borrowed Time) and PInfusion if you *Really* need it at higher levels of gear, you should have plenty of staying power at your fingertips, always consider haste below Int, Spower, Crit.
Haste is no where near trash for a disc priest... There will be a point in your raiding and even in your 5-mannng where you realise that Gheal is actually safer for the MT than 2 flash heals. However somehow you'll never heal alone and in our case sniping is needed for Rapture procs. In this case Gheal with some added haste is always nice. Never take haste over Crit but as an addtion in items like Gothik's Cowl it is definately worth it.
And as stated so many times before on various different locations (like discpriest.com and Elitist-jerks) the crit you want to gather has a soft cap... This is due to Divine Aegis not stacking in its current form. More clarity about this will (hopefully) given in 3.1. With tanks and their avoidance you will most likely waste a lot of Aegis procs due to them dodgng or you overwriting, especially if you use flash heal. And hence the haste.
This is by no chance an attack on anything/anyone I just wanted to clarify my previous post.
