IMO BI is worthless, I've not tanked a single mob that I couldn't strafe and feral charge to interrupt its spellcasting(if the spell is worth interrupting), and feral charge has a lower cooldown. I'm all for getting the core talents most people are getting except Thick Hide, as I spec'd out of it at 70 and lost very little armor(didn't get actual amount tho, should test so I am being accurate) - I used to be at the armor cap and blizz dropped me 10k in the patch, but gave me 6% more physical and 12% more all around dmg reduction to compensate. Until I see what the fights are going to be like in WotlK as far as casting mobs aoe or stunning is concerned I am not going to make any final decisions, but for now I'm lookin' at this:
http://wotlk.wowhead.com/?talent=0ZxGRscrzceRcIzNobe0u
if there alot of stuns I will shuffle some points around to take 30% reduced damage while stunned. I actually never liked furor pre and into BC simply cause I didn't need it(and was too lazy to shift out and in on pulls) but missing my intensity now until I have the points to spec into it and noticing my initial pulls are slower TPS and in boss fights where I am in need of some rage instantly(which now that I think of it is once in a blue moon) or just for kicks.
Additionally until I know if I will be running with other druids most of the time I will keep points in imp motw.

well with 3.03 PI doesn't effect Bears anymore so its gone, points will go into naturalist or thick hide depending on how Blizz decides to make feral armor at 80.

the ammount of suck in specs ive seen recently is making me sick,
dont discount bear dps abilities
dont forget your can be raid dps as cat too when theres other tanks around
dont forget the freaking healing spell power tallent,
and dont spend any points away from the feral tree... yet
dont gimp yourself do what makes you better . and pay attention to your tallents.raid fails because you couldnt heal through an emergancy? . you cant keep threat on multiple mobs becuase you just cant deal damage? . or you think mangle spam is nice and avoid hitting shred to see happy funtime 4k damage crits

Some notes and observations:
Feral Aggression will be better in the expansion (because Demoralizing Roar is better). At 80, you will get about the same attack power reduction from it as a Warrior.
Improved Mangle is not as good (for threat generation) as it looks. Basically, it replaces a Lascerate with a Mangle once every 18 seconds. It is quite nice for kitty dps if you are going Mangle-spam however.
Single-target threat generation does not seem to be an issue.
Omen of Clarity is not nearly as good as it used to be for bears.
Improved Leader of the Pack amounts to about 120 HPS, give or take a few. For comparison, you can expect somewhere on the order of 2000 HPS in a raid to the MT from each healer.
Berserk is absolutely amazing.
For what it's worth,
this is my build
. It's fairly useless in cat form unfortunately.

That's Battle Shout, not Demoralizing Shout.
Demoralizing Shout
vs
Demoralizing Roar

About Feral Aggression. At level 70 i've never specced FA, mainly because i've been under the impression that bosses doesnt have that much AP.
I tried to find some facts to support this possible misconception and found this on Elitist Jerks (regarding warriors):
The amount of AP that can be debuffed from an NPC is actually quite minimal when compared to the amount that can be removed from a player, as most NPCs have low AP values but very high base damage on their attacks. Current estimates place most boss NPCs at or around 340 AP. An untalented Demoralizing Shout will wipe out most but not all of this value. The primary reason to take Improved Demoralizing Shout (referred to hereafter as IDS) is to offset Curse of Recklessness. Curse of Recklessness removes 800 armor from the target but improves its attack power by 135.
For this reason i've never specced FA, particularly since i've never raided with locks that cursed recklessness. (and i never use Ferocious Bite as cat either. Rip ftw.)
Does anyone know what a raid boss's AP is in WotLK?

Hmm, lots of builds with lots of spins on builds.
I think that in addition to the talents laid out in the original sticky on bear tanking, the new clear Must Have's are Natural Reaction, Protector of the Pack, and Rend and Tear (and IWs). It's not difficult to fish out the bear tanking talents in the tree.
I've always been a big fan of Maul, and now with the glyph that lets it hit 2 targets at once, what's not to like? Maybe that will change if being "Rage Starved" starts happening more often at 80, but I doubt it. If you're not being rage-starved, it's not rage inefficient. Usually I'm not. Plus, with hit rating being somewhat of an issue for bears, it's nice to have Maul queued as an attack to back up Mangle in case it misses at the start of a fight.

I hear ya, I know you weren't saying that it's bad. It is good to make people aware that you do lose some rage generation when using Maul But it's also good to recognize that when you have a full rage bar, it also makes it a great way to dump rage. Maul is a 2 edges sword... fantastic if you have lots of rage, bad news if you have none. I was just adding my 2cents :D
