?
i don't really know where to start but the first thing is drain life's coeff isn't 214 or 142, it's 71.43%
there's been some talk of drain
soul
being massively buffed but i think we're yet to see any evidence of this on the ptr/beta.

yes you have the coeffecient completely wrong.
Drain life generates a large amount of threat (the healing and the damage both generate threat). You simply can't chain spam it in raids.
You haven't factored in Imp Shadow Bolt. As this now a buff (not a debuff on the target) I found on PTR testing that for an affliction lock it has a much increased uptime and benefits all your DoTs and SBs for often it's entire duration after it procs.
I also found Pandemic procs made up about 15% of my DPS, so i'm fairly sure it's a must have talent for any Deep Affliction spec. Getting healthy crit % is going to have a large impact on your DPS, and scale very well.

Healing from Drain Life generates no threat.

Imp SB
does not buff DoTs at the moment (due to it being a buff on you in WotLK rather than a debuff on the target as it is in TBC.).
i stand corrected then, this is news to me. Didn;t realise ISB didn;t buff dots anymore.
either way, I've been testing Affliction rotations on Dr Boom on PTR for days now, and SBing in the gaps does way more damage. about 30% more than Draining Life.

...but not nearly as much as drain soul on a target below 20% health :P

I'de just like to add that Drain life looks better than Shadowbolt since 3.0 (on the Ptr at least). so if theres any debate ide just go with the drain for the awesomness.
