If every class is capable of performing at the same level of efficiency as one another, what then becomes reason to play any class over another? Looks? Armor class?

You're missing the point I was trying to make. The reason that warriors as a DPS class aren't balanced on the same level as the rogue is because of the whole prot tree. The class has the potential to do something entirely different than DPS, which the rogue does not. How fair would it be if a warrior could DPS just as well as a rogue, but then at the end of the day, go respec prot and tank a raid? Class balancing has to occur across the whole class, not just ONE tree.Tell that to a druid.

If all classes could reach a limit of DPS that were equal to each other, then there would still be a million other reasons why you would like to play that class.
1) PvP.
2) Gameplay.
It's not all about numbers, people.
