Elemental shammans valuable to raiding? I have fully geared elemental shamman however, i have never ran kara or anything so im not sure of raid make ups, so would it be better to just switch to resto, or is elemental useful to raiding

I have a feeling machar will come in a bit and tell you just how awesome elemental shaman can be. :D
(yes it can be very useful. You bring totems to the table and are unique in that you can actually put down a useful fire totem.)

Yea I would say they are a very powerful DPS class starting out, and I can't totally agree with Travysh considering I've seen elemental shamans rock DPS at T6 and SW content. As long as you have a good balance of spell damage and haste with your spell hit capped you will rock the DPS charts.
Your prerequisite's going into Kara other then being spell hit capped (which is only 51 hit rating if specced which is easily done), you want between 500-600 spell damage, roughly 10k mana for boss fights, and 15-20% crit chance which none of that is very hard and can be accomplished in green/blues. I have a shaman that I've been leveling thats currently lvl 62 with 355 spell damage unbuffed, 13.5% crit, 6.6k mana, and 60mp5 while casting w/o water shield on. I do roughly 490-500 dps while leveling with interrupts from getting hit which usually adds a second or 2 to my cast time.
But what I don't get is how are you fully geared and never hit Karazhan? Are you like fully badge geared or something? Which in that case I would say skip Kara and move to t5 or lower t6 content cause with full badge gear you can hit 1.2k spell damage which is a lot for a shaman.
