Good story, wish I could have been there...if only to stand there and watch him die (no hearthing required).
And a good old /ignore might have come in handy too.

I have a macro I spam whenever I enter a PUG, "I don't heal stupid. It's an incurable debuff. No cleanse will take it off. So don't be stupid." That's the short version xD. I never drink in heroics though and rarely in raids. I use my CDs throughout them, but that's just because my priest's gear can handle it so I try to get in and out before PUGs fall apart due to stupidity. But seriously recognize idiots and leave their groups.

I had a bad moment today.
H Nexus, so it's easy stuff, right? It consisted of a warlock (the leader) a rogue, a warrior from my guild, and me. We were looking for a tank, and i got one of the tanks in my guild to come, but he was promptly kicked by the group lead because "He had to invite a guildie". Oh well, we begin the instance. The warlock (group lead) in my group decides he wants to enslave one of the mage dogs, so he does, it breaks not 10 seconds later and kills him. Res, you learn, move on. He dies AGAIN to Stoutbeard's Whirlwind (for whatever reason) but after that he does alright. We continue on through the instance fine and get to Omorok, and wipe at 20K because the tank went from 27K hp to 217 hp. Yeah, that's right, a 26K loss.
Wtf is going on here?
So, As i'm scramble to read the combat log to find out wtf happened here, i get kicked from the group. KICKED. I search through the combat log to see what killed the tank, and i find it. The tank was Crit while Omorok was enraged - TWICE - in a row. That explains the hp loss.
You kick the @#$%ing healer because the tank was crit? What kind of system is that? D=

...That is why you want to be uncritable...

I've got 2.
I was spamming heals Gheal --> Gheal --> Gheal. (I am Holy) And was wondering why the tank's health wasn't going up. I didn't have him targeted >_<.
Edit: It was in a raid, he died. :P
And the Second was in arena. I was 1 game away from getting the achievement . We were conformable winning, and then a x2 dps team comes up. I say well easy just survive the burst while my partner kills them. I die in 6-8 seconds. I wondered why, I had my partner targeted >_<.

no 3 on dps for the fight as a disc priest
For some reason, I never though to dps during the no heal phase, I just bounce around and shield people, while calling out spores on vent.
Thanks Momma Fox!

I can definitively say that PvE realms have the widest range of bad players.
Making assumptions is bad.
I also think pve realms have more 'bad' players. Although, I don't think it's a terribly noticeable amount.
I believe the process of leveling up an a pvp realm, and functioning normally on a pvp realm requires more expertise then a pve realm. Not to say that someone on a pvp realm can not be absolutely terrible, but on a pve realm there is a larger percentage of people who mindlessly 'poosh butan' their way up to 80, and don't go through the trials and tribulations that are sometimes associated with leveling/functioning on a pvp realm.
The distinction isn't that pvp makes you a better player, the distinction is that having to deal with the opposing faction incites a more 'on edge' approach to the game, enabling the player to explore the nuances of their class more deeply, and therefore having a better understanding of the game as a whole.
I've said it once, i'll say it again, skill is the most determining factor in WoW, so that small percentage of players who are more battle hardened and 'learned' from growing up on a hard knock lifestyle (pvp realm, lol) make the end game a little less noobish.
At least, that's my point of view, and I have played on both types of realms for a time period greater then two years. And have leveled up a priest on pve, another priest on pvp, a warrior on pve, and a paladin on pvp. I feel my analysis is fairly non biased and correctly judgemental of the differences.

as far as pvp. i got to 40 with a druid on a pvp realm and i can say this. getting ganked by higher levels does not make you a better player, just a more frustrated one.
Very true, but its not the frustrating parts I was talking about, its the fair fight ones. They might be few and far between, but they make a difference. Just the fact that you are more aware of your surroundings watching for a enemy player presence makes you more aware of the game you are playing.

Part of your problem was having 2 healers, both specializing in single target healing with no one great at AoE...just b/c people see priest and automatically think you have CoH, that isn't the case. Also, FH, Penance, and your shield would have been your friend there. Keep using your main healing spells, otherwise your just slightly better than a spriest that could offheal. Furthermore, if the tank can't hold aggro off the healer, that is their fault. DPS have the option of reducing damage output most of the time to lessen aggro, healers can't very well lessen the amount healed.
On a side note, way back when I have seen the whole room for Curator pulled at once...not a single death. That was a fun run...
