Leatherworking Dilemma

So my main is a 61 Druid currently with like 280 Leatherworking and 312 Skinning.
And I honestly quite dislike it. Throughout leveling her I have almost never been able to make anything nice for my leveling and it just seems a waste. None of the BoP stuff seems that good
especially when compared to say Tailoring where you can make Primal Mooncloth or Frozen Shadoweave.
Should I drop it? Will there be anything significant enough added in WotLK to warrant keeping it around?
And if I do drop it what should I drop it for?
I was thinking maybe mining/engineering or maybe herbalism/alchemy. I'm not sure. Is engineering worth it? I have heard it can be at the least a fun profession.
But maybe alchemy could be better. I dunno.
And Herbalism will probably make alot more money come WotLK.
My 2 main alts are a currently level 15 priest and a level 12 warlock. Not that high but I would like to level them. If I do take mining/engineering or herb/alchemy would it be a good idea to pick up engineering or alchemy on them? Since Tailoring does not really need any secondaries.
Also I am not a huge pvper. Though I recently tried it out a bit to get enough marks for a Black War Tiger. So some of the engineering stuff could be somewhat useful in pvp. I think.
Any thoughts/opinions you have on this subjects would be much appreciated.

I am actually thinking, since this is my highest level character,
that I will take Mining and Herbalism.
I know people say you shouldn't because you cannot track both at the same time, but addons can make up for that right?
And as a miner and a herbalist she can help my alts with any engineering, jewelcrafting, alchemy, blacksmithing or inscriptions they wanted to do. And then if I ever get another couple of characters high enough I could balance it out a bit.

Addons can not let you track both herbs and ore at the same time. You can, however, make a macro to switch between tracking modes and key-press activate the macro as you fly.
Or something like gatherer set to track herbs but show ore (since you can pretty much see the ore nodes as you fly).
And if you are gonna do this, get an epic mount if you don't have one yet. It makes a tremndous amount of difference in farming speed.

Well I am only 61. But I think the good thing is my character is a druid which should make mining/herbing or at least herbing that much easier since no cast time. :D
Thanks for your help.
