once i hit 70 should i pvp for a little gear and then start raiding or just start doing heroics?
There is something so wrong with that statement. Please don't use your pvp gear for raiding. :\ Build up some decent pve armor with mp5 before you raid. Other than that though, play how you want.

one of the big catch 22's I've found with being resto in those higher 60 lvls, you need good gear to get into the instances with better drop but it's hard to get into them because you don't have the better gear. PvP helped me because you can spend time in the bg's perfecting your healing methods on larger groups for raids etc and eventually earn the gear that will help in the higher level dungeons.IMO there is absolutely nothing wrong with entering into raids with PVP gear until you can get the better gear from raid drops. Most of the PVP gear has stats that aren't beneficial to raid invironments (resilience being one) and that is mostly why they are looked down on, that and people feel like you haven't "done your time" so to speak.
I would rather see a decently geared PVP raid member than the idiots showing up in crappy blues/greens and wiping the raid becasue they aren't geared and don't know jack about the instance.

I guess I should have clarified a little more on what I meant. PvP Items used to "supplement" raid gear until you can get the raid epics are fine. I personally have some PVP stuff on most of my toons, but usually no more than 1-3 pieces, but only because I don't have a lot of time to raid, and do instance after instance to get the drops I need. (Trust me, my luck with drops just blows)
Now as far as people in PVP Gear and Specced for PVP in the raid group, they are utterly retarded, and I didn't address that in my first post. You are 100% accurate in saying they are only hindering the raid group when they show up like that.
No to mention PvP Weapons are better than most other items, until you can get into the raiding scene and start accumulating badges.

With this i am absolutely agreed, as long as u can survive, it's good pvp allow u to take more hit then blue and green.
and it is the best way to enter the raiding group, pvp epic then u can improve ur ap /sd after u get some loots :)

from my exprience. i don't really care what gear i use. epic or blue or green "well not green anyway." if it improve my toon ap / sd i will use it. i got all epic items and blue items. but in the end i still choose some blue over epic as they give me a better benefits.
i can admit that i am still a noob in wow after 3yr of wow. lol.
but i know what i need to make me and my toons more stronger.

Okay, everyone above, healing in pvp gear is different from dpsing in pvp gear. :\
I don't mind the dps being in pvp gear, they're pieces that are good supplements and sometimes superior pieces in the bgs and arenas.
The problem with the shaman pvp gear is its lack of mp5, which is something that resto shaman really need in fights. The pve blues are easy enough to obtain, it just means you can't go directly into kara. :\
