Simple version:
12.6 spell hit = +1% chance to hit
22.1 spell crit = +1% chance to crit
1 spell hit = .08% dps for every spell a warlock casts
1 spell crit = .045% dps... for shadow bolts, incinerate, and the initial portion of immolate... if you have Ruin... and are at the hit cap, as missed spells cannot crit...

No
, crit < hit until you reach the hit cap.
In addition to the DPS aspect, which Dun covered nicely, there are several spells which have NO crit component but can still miss. For Example:
Soulshatter - If you pull aggro on an untauntable boss and this misses you are probably dead
Banish - missing when you are on banish duty = scrub
Enslave Demons - missing when you are on enslave duty = scrub
Curse of Doom - # DPS curse in raids
Curse of Agony
Curse of Recklessness - useful on many bosses when you have a lot of melee people in your raid
Curse of Elements - useful if you have more than 2 casters DPS
And yes, for the curses, you can just recast but you still lose the DPS from the GCD and the mana which will mean a slight DPS loss later when your life tap has to come a few seconds early. And for CoEl/CoR your raid's DPS also drops for the duration of the GCD.
