Having trouble with herbalism

It seems I'm having a "greener on the other side" feeling about skinning.
I'm 375 herbalism, don't have an epic mount.
Problem is, I find it hard to make a profit! It seems like skinning something would always be there, vs flying all over the world for 1 herb.
Opinions? Suggestions?
Thanks!
My other prof is tailoring, i'm a priest.

skinning is crap comparing to herbalism, simply because skins are cheap...
mining is ok, but more ore seems to be rare that herbs
i'd say that herbalism is the best choice
get auctioneer addon, wait for good price on AH and ofc, grind some more :)

I've made nearly all of my money from herbalism. Try and get things that sell high on your server as suggested above, on mine its usually Nightmare Vine (60g a stack), Dreaming Glory (30g a stack), Fel Lotus (30g each o_O), Terocone (50g a stack). Its gonna take a while if you haven't got the epic flyer yet, but you can also do dailies to get extra money.

A stack of terocone goes for 30G on my server:
Dreaming glory 19G
Nightmare - 40G
Netherbloom 45G
Your server has quite a bit of an advantage :/

If you want money, get cartographer_routes. Best addon ever. It tells you a route to go to every herb spawn point that wowhead has in data

gathermate + routes = efficient gathering.
Take a ride around terokkar or netherstrom. It isn't unreasonable to make 100-200g an hour just from farming herbs that are in short supply.
The issue isn't with the profession or you, but rather in efficiency. If you don't know where you're going it will take you forever, but if you have a set route that takes you across all the spawns in the zone in a timely manner it can be quite lucrative.
