Oooh how I agree with so much of this topic. I see it each day in trade channel, in guild chat, battlegrounds, etc. I wish I could find a guild that was casual or semi-serious raiding that was helpful and patient with each other and not worried about getting to the "end game" first etc. I have yet to find this and I am not sure I would even know how to recruit if I started a guild myself. I don't even know how to make friends in the game anymore, most people don't want to be bothered... or are as they see themselves the "elitist"
It's sad really.

To the point of the thread, yeah they are out of hand and there shouldn't be as much crap on the trade channel etc as there is. However, to nefarion's point, given the reality behind wow and the rules and guidelines and the fact that we know they can stay there in trade and say w/e they want day in and out and be reported a million times without punishment, we have 2 choices:
leave because it's just too much and you don't want to have to deal with it,
or stay and find a way to ignore it either through the ignore list or simply willpower.
Life's not fair, you don't get to pick your neighbors and you dont get to boot your bad neighbor's out. But, you can move to a better neighborhood. Wow isn't fair either, change realms or mmo's or get a new hobby. I for one won't let bullies get in the way of my fun, if some kid is making fun of rape, dont get mad at him, feel sad that its gonna take someone close to them getting rapes to realize the horror of it. I don't like being told what i have to live with or that my choices are limited to such and such and so i understand people being mad and there are other ways to deal with it, but these are the only viable quick fixes for you personally if you find this to be too much and are thinking of leaving the wow community.

i lol at this forum
not because its funny
but because its the most correct thing ive ever read
guild mate i had, he was being a --- in trade, no one else in the guild was near him, i was in elwynn walked in on it, and kicked him, and advised all people to ignore him
one guy named Wallas on killrogg was a --- we kicked him after he cursed out another person, spammed Gcal, and many other offenences.

Who needs optimism when you can be emo and degrade other people for fun?

Alliance side on my server, idiot 12-year-old Cyber-bullies are extremely common. It's hard to enter and leave a capital city without hearing at least one "U dont kno me so stfu u nerdtard".
gotta say, the "alliance has more kids than horde" stereotype seems to be painfully true. not that horde doesn't have their pains in the ass, but man, so glad i'm dropped my night elf.

What's been the worst lately on my server are the people, for no reason at all, blurting out grossly racist or offensive comments in the middle of trade chat.
Which is only complicated by the overly sensitive people who take a comment made by some random idiot in trade chat personally. And then starts an hour long argument between the same people just trading insults. I don't even have global channels turned on with most of my characters, and I'm not even bothering with finding a guild until WotLK.
And you know PvP has gone downhill when the only response to anything you say in BGs or the forums turns into an insult on how many killing blows you have (which obviously takes skill) or your arena ratings.
