Simply put, for a Ret Pally which is better for personal dps... Blessing of Kings or 5/5 speced Blessing of Might? Yes I know, Kings has far more utility for other members of your party/raid. But does the increased agility(crit) intellect (spell crit) make up for the decrease in attack power?

unless your str. + Agility is over 1k, BoM > BoK in most cases
and you shouldn't even worry about spell crit

yah, for the most part I dont worry about the spell crit... but it
is
something that adds to dps albeit minimal.

The only problem is, as a ret pally you are going to have to spend at least 11 points in the prot tree to get BoK. At least 5 of those are going to be viewed as useless unless you really plan on using Dev. Aura or a Shield for redoubt.
So the question to you would be, could those 5 to 11 points be better spent somewhere else? In the same thought, 5 points in the holy tree buys you 10% increase to strength which helps your personal dps without wasting the points in useless prot talents.
Unless you're already hit-capped, getting precision is not a waste of talents points (though the first 5 are useless). So, you only lose 3 points in the Ret tree.
