Hello
Im just wondering if there is anything that i can add to my current php script to be able to see the item quality color on the links that it produces?
as you see now it creates wowhead links with the item id from my eqdkp database. just wondering if there is a way to add the class="q#" to the <a> tagg with a variable that reads from i dunno your site and produced a number depending on the items quality?
<php?
$db_host = '###########';
$db_user = '#######';
$db_pass = '#######';
$db_db = '######';
mysql_connect ($db_host, $db_user, $db_pass);
mysql_select_db ($db_db);
print "<head><link rel=stylesheet type=text/css href='
http://#################/###.css'
/><script src='
http://static.wowhead.com/widgets/power.js'></script></head><body>";
$items = array();
print "<table border=0 cellspacing=0 cellpadding=0>";
$sql = <<<EOM
SELECT item_ctrt_wowitemid, item_name, item_buyer, raid_date
FROM ####_items AS i
INNER JOIN ####_raids AS r ON i.raid_id=r.raid_id
ORDER BY raid_date DESC LIMIT 7
EOM;
$result = mysql_query("$sql") or die(mysql_error());
while ($row = mysql_fetch_array($result))
{
$time = $row;
print "<tr><td class=left><a href='
http://www.wowhead.com/?item="
. $row . "' target=_blank> . "]</a></td></tr><tr><td class=right>Lootad av: <a href='
http://eu.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Quel%27Thalas&n="
. $row ."' target=_blank><b>" . $row ."</b></a></td></tr>";
}
print "</table></body>";
?>

Just now noticed that you can add &xml behind a link to a item and see its xml, the number after <quality id=" is the number im after to extract and somehow build into my php script.
I doubt that there isnt someone here who can help me with this.

I've been using these tool tips on my blog for a while now, and the new link format is screwing with my page. Without the '?' in the link, I'm unable to get the tool tip. If I go back and add the question mark to the links, the tool tips come back. Is there something I'm missing? My page is a Wordpress blog named
Alazar

Can anyone help me?
How do I get russian xml feed?
For example, I have converted name
"отточенный алый крис"
to UTF-8 and got something like %D0%BF%C2%BB%D1%97%D0%A0%D1%95%D0%A1%E2%80%9A%D0%A1%E2%80%9A%D0%A0%D1%95%D0%A1%E2%80%A1%D0%A0%C2%B5%D0%A0%D0%85%D0%A0%D0%85%D0%A1%E2%80%B9%D0%A0%E2%84%96%20%D0%A0%C2%B0%D0%A0%C2%BB%D0%A1%E2%80%B9%D0%A0%E2%84%96%20%D0%A0%D1%94%D0%A1%D0%82%D0%A0%D1%91%D0%A1%D0%83
Then i make a link
http://ru.wowhead.com/item=%D0%BF%C2%BB%D1%97%D0%A0%D1%95%D0%A1%E2%80%9A%D0%A1%E2%80%9A%D0%A0%D1%95%D0%A1%E2%80%A1%D0%A0%C2%B5%D0%A0%D0%85%D0%A0%D0%85%D0%A1%E2%80%B9%D0%A0%E2%84%96%20%D0%A0%C2%B0%D0%A0%C2%BB%D0%A1%E2%80%B9%D0%A0%E2%84%96%20%D0%A0%D1%94%D0%A1%D0%82%D0%A0%D1%91%D0%A1%D0%83&xml
and got a xml result with
Устойчивая к загниванию кираса
Other links did the same.
Thank you fo advice!

tooltip with set bonus does not function, also in demo it does not function. see \ "Felstalker Bracers (Enchant, gem, set bonus) \"
Anything new about it? It seems to work on profile page but cannot find the difference.

I tested it under windows and linux with the following combinations:
Firefox 3.6.3 (Linux/Windows)
IE 6 and 7
Chrome 4.1 (Windows)
Chrome 5.0 (Linux)
Every time same result. Just the bracers (25697) are shown as part of the set. Btw. it's no different if any other item id comes first.

I wrote a plugin for MediaWiki to allow tooltips via <wowhead>Luffa</wowhead> syntax:

Hi !
I have done a small JS for phpbb forum to add some more functionalities :
* Display icon when available
* Remove icon from tooltip
* Display element name after the icon
* Display real quality (disabled here, but you can activate it if your forum doesn't have the same background color than a wow quality color.
* Multi language supported
* All wowhead element type supported (item, quest, npc, spell, achievement, object)
* Maximum re-usability of wowhead API (less code, but more update to do if they change their script ;o)
For use it, it's overcomplicated...
1) Create buttons for wow items, quests, npcs, etc... who will generate link like :
<a href="
http://LANG.wowhead.com/TYPE=ID">text</a>
For example, for npcs :
{ID}
<a href="
http://fr.wowhead.com/npc=
{ID}">text</a>
Caution : the text of the link will not be displayed, it will be replaced by npc name. It will be displayed only if my script failed.
2) Add the classic wowhead script to your page :
<script type="text/javascript" src="
http://static.wowhead.com/widgets/power.js"></script>
3) put my script at the background of the forum, just before </body> or put it in a file like wowhead.js (encoded in UTF-8) and call it juste before body too with :
<script type="text/javascript" src="......wowhead.js"></script>
$WowheadPower.customDisplay=function(id,obj) {
var el=document.getElementById('WH'+id);
if (el) {
var locale=el.locale;
locale=((locale=='www')||(!locale))?'enus':locale+locale;
el.innerHTML=(obj.icon)?'<img src="
http://static.wowhead.com/images/wow/icons/medium/'+obj.icon.toLowerCase
()+'.jpg" /> ':'';
el.innerHTML+=obj;
//if (obj.quality) el.className+=" q"+obj.quality; // color disable for compatibility with white background
el.id=null; // only one execution
return true;
}
obj.icon=''; // remove icon from default display in tooltip
return false;
}
var type=;
for(i=0;i<type.length;i++) {
$WowheadPower]=$WowheadPower];
$WowheadPower]=new Function('id,num,obj', 'if (!this.customDisplay(id+"-'+type.toLowerCase()+'",obj)) {this+'"](id,num,obj); }');
}
var aList=document.getElementsByTagName('a');
for(i=0;i<aList.length;i++) {
var aMatch=aList.href.match(/^http:\/\/(.+?)?\.?wowhead\.com\/\?(item|quest|spell|achievement|npc|object)=(+)/);
if(aMatch) {
aList.locale=aMatch;
aList.setAttribute('id','WH'+aMatch+'-'+aMatch);
var ascript=document.createElement('script');
ascript.type='text/javascript';
ascript.src=aList.href+'&power';
document.getElementsByTagName('head').appendChild(ascript);
}
}
Enjoy !
Edit : update URL to icon

Some items have the same name so it seems to be over complicated to choose an item and not another...
There are also random enchantment, heilroom gear, etc...

Hi all, I am trying to implement the WoWhead ToolTip javascript on my website. The problem is, I have the items listed by item Name, not by wowhead id #.
Is it possible to utilzie the tooltip feature with just the item name? Please let me know!
You would need a script of some sort to pull that data from Wowhead. Like, oh...I don't know
Wowhead Tooltips
.
END Shameless Plug!
