I know a warrior who has gladiator title from s3, he plays past 2100 rating, and I've never seen him get kited in arena.
Hamstring, charge, intercept, and stuns.
The death knight has one ranged snare (chains of ice) on a fairly long cooldown. It cannot be spammed like hamstring, and it's dispellable (hamstring isnt, with the exception of blessing of freedom).
Other than that one snare, our only anti-kiting methods are death grip (very long cooldown, and it's easy to run away from the DK after he grips you) and a couple high-end talents in unholy and frost (hungering cold and desecration respectively).
Right now, kiting is the largest problem DK's have in pvp. Almost all of our abilities that generate runic power are melee-range only, and almost all of our ranged abilities are based on runic power. In pvp, anyone that can run away from us can deprive us of runic power generation, which negates our ability to fight them.
Hopefully something is done to fix it... but right now I'm not seeing anything from blizzard that supports that. Unless you regularly group with a frost mage or warrior or rogue in bg's/arenas, you're going to get kited to death more often than not.

Chillbains, T6 frost, allows a 30% movement debuff on frostfever. That is a 20 yard attack that has a movement debuff. Death grip can be talented down to a 25 second cooldown. Unholy aura can also give a 10% movement increase. These aren't talents that will excel in a PVE environment but will be great for PVP.
It comes down to a character's spec and the player's skill. Don't rely on Blizzard fixing everything so a class is unstoppable. Look into alternative methods to avoid being kited. If it is that bad that you are being kited to the point that you can't even use your abilities then it is definitely not the class that is the problem.
You arent the one having to deal with horde gankers in beta right now =)
Kiting is a class issue, and the only way to avoid it right now is to spec heavy frost, and even then you still end up being more easily kited than a warrior or rogue.

I will agree that a DK with no slowing abilities or reduced cooldown on death grip is going to be kited like mad. That's why if any DK is planning on PVP'ing seriously they have to put 28 points in frost. You simply have to chillbains. It will actually allow for someone to get hit. That still allows T9 in either of the other trees. If you don't do that and complain about kiting, either don't PVP or don't play on a PVP server.
funny how they originally stated unholy was intended to be the pvp-oriented tree, and now you end up having to put half your points in frost to even be capable of pvp'ing (at least in arenas).

It was probably mentioned already, but that's a terrible talent choice. The idea of a kite spec is good, but the choices you made to achieve it were very downy.
