Probly a mage. Its easy to understand "fireball". Its also easy to understand that getting hit hurts but at lv 8ish you can make them stay away for longer. (ie:frostbolt, frost nova, etc)

You all *do* realize that the person who started this thread did so four months ago, and has long since had his answer?

Shaman are fun to level up with cause you wtfpwn everything once you get windfury but don't take one for the long run. If you do be prepared to be free honor point fodder. Druids are nice cause you can fill all 3 roles same with a paladin. And they can still do good in PvP. My first character was a rogue and that was pretty easy to play as well.

i think easiest for beginners is paladin, on beginning he got low amount of spells, one heal and one seal, so tap seal and just blast them for two minutes until you renew new seal, he got high hp and self-heal and in short: he is easy to play, even on high levels

I've rolled a few chars to find what suited me best and I just love paladins. High survival skills,
resurrects (ftw!)
, not very complex rotations, being an overall support unit, it's not that hard to go solo or do some instances and have some fun.
Also, take into account that if someone has just joined WoW, the most discouraging thing would be to die a lot and not get past your first 5 quests (I've seen it happen, don't lol). Paladins have bubbles, heals, stuns, basically anything to get deeper into the game's mechanics without much trouble.
You could try some other classes later on, when you're more experienced and have an idea of how other classes work. Observe everything around you, you
will
learn a lot, and don't be afraid to ask about other people's experience with a certain class; most of them will give you a thorough and insightful reply. (Although some will go the
"Yes I'm OP kthx"
way)
In my opinion, choose a race first, and define classes later. No use for all this advice if your toon is not what you want it to be! :)
And above everything,
HAVE FUN!
