I don't watch much anime, but I like Hayate no Gotoku and the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya.
Oh, and Claymore. Maybe Elfen Lied.

Oh I just remembered I used to watch Megaman all the time (the old ones and the one where he is a computer program)

You know, one of the specialty channels up here used to be an anime thing; though, it was really just the friday night bionix bloc; Inuyasha, Gundam Seed/Wing, Zatch Bell, Avatar the Last Air Bender, Dragonball Z, Sailor Moon, Bleach, Naruto and similar stuff.

Not to burst anyone's bubble, but Avatar isn't an "anime", it's a "cartoon" :P.They consider anything with the small nose and giant eyes to be anime now a days.

Found it Adamsm.
I also am totally in love with BerserkIsn't that the manga that has, like, a million rape scenes?
Now I'm off to bed.

So, not anime exactly; but the cartoons by Jeff Kline;
MIB the series,
Godzilla the series,
and
Extreme Ghostbusters
(WOOOOOOHOOOO), honestly wish he would make something new, we need some good cartoons again.

O hai topic about anime.
Anime i enjoyed watching so much that i consider them as art:
Everything from Miyazaki (i have seen Spirited Away about 40 times. No. Kidding.)
Trigun
Cowboy Bebop
Full Metal Alchemist
Avatar: The Last Airbender (i know, it is not an actual anime. but it looks like one, and is better than most)
Anime i have mixed feelings about:
Neon Genesis Evangelion. It had some really awesome moments. Also some really jaw-dropping moments (a berserk Eva eating the angel, yes please). The remakes that have recently came out are really great. But the characters are kinda weird.
Naruto. I love the art in this, the characters have awesome costume design and stylization. Also some combat scenes are extremely well drawn (i have studied hand-drawn animation, and i know personally how hard it is to draw a combat scene, especially with such camera tricks as they have in Naruto). Rock Lee fights are easilly the best in the series. But the characters are extremely infantile, and the story is waaaay too loose, with all those mega fillers. Naruto movies are really fun to watch, since the art in them is even better than in the series, and the story in them is consistent and not very long.
(Naruto is like a hardcore RPG player: He just HAS to do every possible side-quest in the world)
Anime i can watch, and just treat them as popcorn:
Yu Yu Hakusho (this is what i got instead of DBZ. They aired it on the TV.)
Digimon (i really liked the games, and the evolutions, but the story and characters were very meh in this imo. It also did not cause permanent brain damage like Pokemon does) ...(granted i also love Pokemon games, but the anime is just abysmal)
Some interesting things i have seen ages ago and do not really know how i would compare them to others now: Ergo Proxy, Haibane Renmei, Claymore.
Oh and if you want to laugh, just get
Azumanga Daioh
. Funniest *!@# i have ever seen.
Also,
this song
from X/1999 is like omagad awesome.

This is done by Naruto's author little brother.
I actually liked it more, but that was mainly because of the more mature tone to the second arc.

Heh, the first arc of Hellsing.
Thanks, not the first time I hear this title, will check it after I'm done with Bleach.
Actually, seeing as you only want to watch the first arc(the second one wasn't.... horribad, but it was entirely filler), your only looking at 6-12 episodes(been a while since I've watched it).
