Gankers with S1 gear

So, my shaman was ganked in in Hellfire Pen by an Alliance warrior with the
S3 sword
. I /sighed, /shrugged, corpse-ran, ate & drank and went on my way. Such is life and if it bothers you you shouldn't be on a PvP server.
Later I was in EPL mining thorium -- I stopped by Light's Hope Chapel to check my mail and right outside of town I was chased down and ganked by a mage with the ugly
S1 laserstaff
who then proceeded to teabag me. Now,
this
*!@#ed me off to the point that I had to play an alt for bit to cool down.
You might think that it was the teabagging that elicited this response, but
no!
It was the staff! The way figure it, someone with the S3 sword has nothing to prove -- if they stop by and smear me across the ground I was just in the wrong place at the wrong time.
But
anyone
can get the S1 staff, so I naturally assume anyone with it is just a scrub who is running around looking for a Horde they are actually capable of killing. It bugs me when I have to lose my Fire Festival XP buff just to amuse a scrub who can't handle PvP with the other 70s.
Anyone else have the same kind of response? Do you think differently of your opponents in world PvP based on their gear level?

Horde screwing alliance over and the other way around is what the game is about imo. Live with it.
And this is an answer to my question in what way?
I'll just put you down in the "I don't care about gear!" column until you say something useful.

the ops topic is do you look down on some one for not being in S4 gear bc its so easy to get S1/2 gear.
I dont look down at my opponents bc most of the time im looking up at them o_O but when i get into a battlegroud i do look down on my team mates who are lvl 70 and in all green =( i mean it is easy to get pvp gear and imo if your 70 there is no reason you shouldnt have the basic pvp set or higher.
Ever think maybe they just dinged 70 and are in the process of doing just that o.0
Honestly...that deduction didnt require even 2 brain cells to function simultaniously...

Some of them even get their jollies terrorizing people 50 levels below them. I guess if they can't bully anyone in real life they can do it in WoW.

Two words pvp server....
PvP is an acronym, so technically that's four words.
And how exactly is this an answer in any way to my question?

To the OP. Don't be angry because you couldn't kill him.
Amusingly, this has nothing to do with my original question.
It really doesn't matter how you attain the gear you use, it's how you want to use that gear. If he feels he needs to kill you while you're questin, and camp you for an hour, that's his time spent...that he pays for.
OK! Now this might be an answer to my question, even though it's a bit tough to understand what you are getting at. I'll put you down in the "I don't care about gear!" column.

But to be honest, too many people stereotype gankers. Yeah, there are a few people that do it for the thrill because they're no good at the game. But there are also many who do it for other reasons. I actually know quite a few
damned
skilled players that love terrorizing people.
Yeah, this is kind of what I was thinking. Since you can't inspect the gear or PvP stats of the other faction, and by the time I find a safe spot, Alt-Tab out, start a browser and get to the Armory to check their stats I've usually stopped caring -- the only way to tell if they are "no good at the game" or whether they are one of the "
damned
skilled players that love terrorizing people" is to make assumptions based on their gear.

Gear doesn't bother me at all. All I'll ever have is welfare epics most likely, I don't like the Arena and don't like how you are basically forced to Arena to PVP at all anymore. I don't have 40 hours a week to play so I understand when other people don't play WoW full time either to get the best gear imaginable.

coulda been an s2 staff.

You could be in total S4 and have an Arena Rating of a billion, but if you teabag, you're a nub. I don't care if you could take on the entire opposite faction by yourself. You're still a nub. Teabagging in WoW is you getting up and sitting down again. Repeatedly. That's it. So basically you're advertising a bad case of hemorrhoids.
