So? Who pays that monthly subscription to sit in front of the AH?
I'm pretty sure he didn't sit in front of the AH waiting for it to sell. If you spend 10-15 minutes at the AH every time you log in, you sure can make a lot of gold. Depending on the level of items you're trading in, I'd say you could easily pull in 50-200 gold pr session (given that you have a bit of starter gold of course), which shouldn't be too bad for a 15 minute session. Then go do dailies if you like.

I think you have made a good start here, but you don't go nearly far enough, and are not nearly ambitious enough.
I'm not meaning to brag, but to give you an indication of how rich AH trading has made me, I currently have 7000g sitting on my bank mule, and have nothing left to buy. Ive spent over 20,000g on flying mounts (epics on four toons, 2 of which arent mine but i bought for less gold savvy friends), and over 15,000g on my toons gear and gems (my guild raids hyjal/BT, but rather than wait for gear I bought boots/belt of blasting, spellstrike, etc. I also have a ful set of epic gems, worth in the vicinty of 3000g).
I don't play much. I spend about 3 hours a week on my bank mule, i only play about 15 hours a week all up, and I havent farmed for a long, long time.
To make money, DO NOT, whatever you do, put a filter on your auctioneer that cuts out high value items. those are the very ones you want!
The more an item is worth, the more profit is available.
The guide that has been posted by Elamdri is a fantastic, reliable guide for making a small amount of gold. However if you want to make BIG money, there are some things you'll need to change.
Firstly - you will need seed capital. The old adage that it takes money to make moey is entirely true. you can start with any amount, but the more you have to work with, the more you can make.
1) Don't rely on auctioneer. Its a great tool to start with, but it doesnt allow for changes in the market sitaution (eg, patch changes the drop rate of primal shadow, increasing price from 5g to 35g). You need to have a feel for the prices that doesnt rely on a database program, you need to know yourself.
2)The market fluctuates on a daily and weekly basis, following the weekly raiding cycle, and the daily population intensity cycle. The increased number of people online evenings, and weekends, and the increased raiding done Monday-friday nights affects prices greatly.
3)READ THE PATCH NOTES, AND BE AWARE OF UPCOMING CHANGES/DEVELPMENTS. I made a fortune, in excess of 5000g by buying up a huge number of void crystals pre void shatter and selling afterwards as large prismatics. I made another 1000g or more on large prismatics and Greater planar essences just last week, due the price spiking as people buy them to enchant their new season 4 arena gloves.
4)Buy stacks, and split to sell. Whenever I log into my bank mule, i put up a tell saying "buying void crystals in bulk, PST. Sometimes i get no answers, sometimes i get an answer. Best I've had so far is a guy that sold me 40 voids at 19g each. I paid a guildy 30g to split them to large prismatics, which i sold for 17g each. profit of exactly 550g (after paying about 50g in AH fees). Total time taken, about 15 minutes, most of which was laboriously splitting the 80 large prismatics into individuals. I also check for stacks of items of value (especially high end enchanting materials, epic gems, and primals), that I can simply split into individuals and resell at a profit. This was covered in the guide, but for petes sake don't limit yourself to small value items, why make 1g on motes when you can make 10g on primals?
5)keep an eye out for rare and valuable items. Staff of jordan and shadowfang are prime examples. Both are worth a fortune to twinkers, but are often sold cheap by people who dont know what they are worth, and you can make hundreds of gold in an instant.
6)Do not sell immediately if you don't like the price. Be aware of rule 2, the market can, and will fluctuate. I'm not giving away all my secrets, but at certain times of the week prices are about 15% lower across the board. Do some research, find it, exploit it. Do the math, if you spend 5000g on stuff (and if you're buying epic gems, void crystals, large prismatics, primals, etc, you can spend that much easily) you make 750g off that. It'll vary of course, some weks you'll spend 2 hours and make a measly 200g - some weeks you'll make a score and earn a lot more.
7)Most importantly, be prepared to take a risk. I bought up thousands of dreaming glory when they changed the mats for man/health pots, thinking to make a killing as the price jumped. I didnt, i made about 2g a stack, and it took me hours (I still made a few hundred gold - it just wasnt enough to be worth my time). However, if id given up at that point and stopped AH playing, I would never have made the fortune on voids/LPS's that i did a few months later. Be prepared to take risks, and occasionally lose money.
Heres a small list of things you can look out for. These are all high end items, used for raid enchanting, and raid consumables
All primals (including nethers and mights)
Large prismatic shards
Void crystals
Teracone
Netherbloom
Fel lotus
Black Lotus
Some of the high end patterns (but be careful, eg boots of blasting are worth thousands, hurricance belt is worth very little).
And some of the rarer (and low level), but necessary herbs.
Gromsblood
ghost mushroom (despite being a lvl 40ish herb, worth about 80g a stack)
stonescale oil

certainly. I think you've done a really good job with this guide, and I really do think its a fantastic way to start making gold!! The only reason I posted is because I know it can be taken so much further, and once you are confident with what you are doing, all those crazy claims about making 100-200-500g an hour are very realistic.
