I was wondering how you will manage the Zone scalings and then the database, lets say you have
Ranger Bow it can drop from a lot of mobs, and highest chance you got in the database is 0.9%, but with the zone scaling, i figure it can now drop from a looooot of other mobs also, so lets say a new type of mob now can drop it, then the % you got collected over the years is basically poop. Same with any other item you have in the database.
So how will you handle this, because if i want to go out and hunt for an item, i do not want to get the old % calculated in, it might now be another mob that got way higher chance of drop, but due to it just got in the game, it will take a lot of loot to even get high enough on the list, so people would then still think that the mob xxxxx got the best chance for the drop.
lets say you do not want to wipe the loot tables, and the Count and % chance, can you then at least make it so that premium members could pick like, dont calculate drop prior to 7.3.5 or some like that, as said i do not like the idea at all that the old data that is now no lover valid, gets taken into considoration, you have not changed this at any time over the years, lets say for instance look at Garrosh, it used to be 100%, when it then went down to around 1%, it still stood at 100% for some time, and it slowly climbed down to 8% now, which also is not accurate even all those years later, its around 1% drop rate, but due to the number of loot/kill it will go slowly down.
What i try to say is in a few words, wipe the database, or make an option to not show old stuff that is no longer accurate, it will just be misleading, and if people see ah this mob got 60% chance of dropping a mount, and after 5 kills still have not gotten it, and then think bad luck and then after 50 drop they get the mount, its not because they have bad luck, its because the information that was given about the loot chance was not accurate.
