Yes. Yes, he did.
But I think it's actually a pretty weak move. All of Blizzard believed in that expansion and 100s if not 1000s of his employees poured their hearts and souls into making and developing it. And to have all that be dismissed as a joke just because the vocal forum blowhards whined about it is a #$%^ move.

Yeah, agreed. Funnily enough I think that BfA looks like WoD without time travelling, at least if you have an Alliance character. You're fighting against Horde (this time the "Old Horde" instead of the "True/Iron Horde") and the garrisons are back (in Warfronts). We'll be seeing more of Man Jesus Thrall. They could have done this two expansions ago, in terms of story progression there is no reason they couldn't have.

It didn't though; the Chronicles runs with the back story of Warlords before the time travel thing happened, so everything else before then is canon, reducing the Rise of the Horde book to non-canon status.
