[Fixed] "Could not process update list."

Running the client looks like it's going to update itself, then pops up an additional dialog box with simply that text as an error, no additional info. Clicking OK exits the entire program.
It took me a while to find the logfile without being able to launch the client to see where it's stored, but the corresponding log contains only:

This was the result of an attempt to fix an upload issue some users have been experiencing for months. Unfortunately, it had the opposite affect. We're reverting the change now and will continue looking to fix the other remaining issue.
