I don't know if this is mentioned anywhere explicitly and I just missed it somewhere, or whether it's simply implied somewhere along the line, but what exactly is the Burning Crusade?
I know the Burning Legion is the army of demons, formerly head by Archimonde and currently lead by the big KJ, and overall orchestrated by Sargeras. Is the Burning Crusade just another term for them?
Or is the Burning Crusade referring specifically to their actions somewhere- either invading Azeroth or Draenor/Outland?
I always assumed they were just interchangeable terms for the army, but was wondering lore wise what is accurate. Thanks.

Ok, that makes sense.
My next question would have to be, though, which invasion are they on? Total plans for Azeroth still? Or retaking parts of Outland primarily?

Yes, not just Draenor or Azeroth but to destroy any trace of order in the Universe.

That has always been and most likely will always be their mission

The goal of the Burning Legion is to destroy all life, and remake it in Sargeras' vision of a world of chaos, not order.
They're attempting to carry this goal out through an obvious war campaign which they've named The Burning Crusade.
