Hi all, yesterday I got
http://www.wowhead.com/?item=34472
and has greatly reduces enemy dodge chance, but as I know a raid boss will dodge 6.5% of the time from behind, is it worth getting expertise capped?
I know of two items that I want which will get me completely capped
http://www.wowhead.com/?item=33296
and
http://www.wowhead.com/?item=30834
but the question I have is, will my DPS suffer or improve with
http://www.wowhead.com/?item=33296
? or should I keep my

BTW the percentages in the expertise brackets on the item links are incorrect, 44 expertise rating reduces enemy dodge chance by 2.75% not 11.16%
Wowhead works it out incorrectly, the actual parry/dodge reduction is 1/4 of the stated percentages.

It says 11.16, not 11.16%. 44 expertise rating
does
correspond to 11.16 expertise; this then corresponds to 2.75% parry/dodge reduction.

I just answered this in another thread . . . I'll probably never find that thread. Anyways, I'll let Corbusier do the talking for me this time:
TankSpot
says...
Since a boss-mob is calculated as level 73 mob its dodge is increased by 3*0.5% = 1.5% up to 6.5%. To negate 6.5% dodge, 26 points of expertise or 103 points of expertise rating are needed.
++++Expertise rounds down. Partial amounts of Expertise do nothing.++++
Base Melee Dodge: 6.5%
1 Expertise = expertise rating / 3.95
1 Expertise = -0.25% Dodge and -0.25% Parry
When you reach 103 expertise rating, your attacks will never be dodged. Melee attacks can still miss. If you reach both your hit rating cap and 103 expertise, your melee attacks will never miss or be dodged.
The following is the amount of expertise rating you need to minimize dodges for raid boss fights, depending on your talents, and disregarding racial expertise.
Base: 103
w/ Defiance: 80
w/ Weapon Mastery: 88
w/ Defiance + Weapon Mastery: 64

I'd just like to know if it would be worth equipping or not.

Ah, yes -- you're DPS right? Well, try to get as much expertise as you can after 95 hit rating. At that point, they're kinda equal I figure (though you will gain more hit rating than expertise it high, high end). This is simply because of how itemization was done before expertise was introduced.
It will probably be a huge factor in WLK expansion, along with armor penetration. Right now, those are things which are almost exclusively for certain classes, specs, or situations. Kinda like how pre-60 players don't have much in the way of hit rating or spell penetration, etc.

I'd just like to know if it would be worth equipping or not.Getting expertise capped (reduce dodge chance) is exactly the same as getting soft-hit capped (95 hit), the problem is that expertise isn't a common stat, so many people don't know how much DPS it adds. Each rating does exactly the same as a point of hit rating before 95 hit.
Yeah for DPS hit rating and expertise rating are pretty much the same. However, there may be some rare cases where you attack from the front, and then expertise rating is twice as good. These rare instances include sometimes when bosses turn around to cast some spell or use some ability on random party/raid members. But this is rare enough to be of no real importance; for DPS, just think of hit rating and expertise rating as equal stats (until their respective soft caps).
