Running WoW remotely

I would like to be able connect to my home machine in order to play some WoW. I don't want to install the software on my work machine, for obvious reasons. But I'd like to be able to log in during lunch to maybe review my auctions or read mail, etc. I don't plan to do any real playing.
I can remote to my home machine with no problem, I don't need instructions on that. The problem is that WoW will not run under those conditions. I've tried using remote desktop and flatly got a message saying that WoW could not run with RDP. I tried using a remote service and just get a black screen when launching wow. It appears to be a graphic issue.
Does anyone know if this can be done?

Probably not. WoW (like any other game) relies on a whole lot of information being stored on the hard drive of the machine it's being played on. Running WoW on your home machine and then logging in remotely means pushing more data through than your connection can handle.
It's also (likely) against the ToS/EULA...

The display driver required for Remote Desktop does not support any 3D functions. Any programs that require it will not run.

I'd try gotomypc.com, it is constantly being advertised where I live, and I have used the trial before, works well enough, in my opinion.

I do not know of any remote desktop solutions that will display 3d graphics. you would need the drivers on both machines and it is a lot and i mean A LOT of data that would need to be sent over the connection. the graphics would take too much bandwidth to function properly even if there was a solution.
I use VNC, remote desktop, and logmein and none of these will do what you describe.
If anyone has something and it works with 3D acceleration please post it as i would like to give it a shot also.

I think your best chance at playing wow on lunch breaks would be to get a 16gb Cf card and a usb reader.
Copy over wow to the flash card and plug the reader and play.
Or maybe a small external HDD but I think the rpm's would be too slow myself.
I think this would work, haven't really tried it myself tbh.
I just use my ipod :P

thanks, for the responses. I suspected it was a 3D issue. I could actually launch The Sims II remotely but it was unplayable. Wow is not quite as intensive, I though maybe it would work, albeit with sub par performances.
And I seriously doubt that would be against any EULA....why would it?
The reason I doubt it might be possible is that I saw a co-working listen to TV by remoting in his home machine. I'll have to ask me how he did that.
I considered just installing it on a fast external drive, but it's not just a question of files (in fact it's the least of my worries). Play WoW establishes connections to the server, connections which are logged by most firewalls.

If you are worried about your work firewall logging your wow traffic, perhaps you could install vpn gateway software on your home machine. You then run a vpn client on your work pc. When Wow is run on your work PC, all traffic routes via an encrypted tunnel to your home PC.

i use
www.gotomypc.com
to connect to my home pc and then i will be able to go on my character and play wow with 0.1fps (1 frames per 10 sec) but thats just what i see, fraps tell that my pc is still running with 60-100fps
you will need a fast connection to do this, and even with a fast connection you will have mouse lagg ( we are talking out speed here, not inn)
