To be honest, I would love to see updated portal hubs in this new version of Dalaran, along with a transmog center. The only real gripe I had about the original Dalaran was that there was no area for doing transmogs....Can't wait to see a shiny HD Dalaran.
Problem with majors city in WOW, imo, Blizzard should make all the major place 10 or 20,50,100 times bigger, why? First: Because of flying make the world become smaller, 2nd: the scale of objects (house, store) etc... make major cities look like clay model than a real capital. 3rd: After 11 years of playing WOW, there is not much object that user can interact to, we have very limited thing to touch to interact with beside sit on chair, bench, stools.., i think because of small scale of the house, cathedral, hall did not allow game designer to make more things that fun. 4th: I cannot see the crowd of NPC, when a legion, a squadron, an army appear, you can count the numbers of them, i.e: in Siege of Ogrimmar, the combination of Alliance and Horde army landing to the shore, the Iron horde army is just around 6 or 8 NPC per group, and only about 5 groups there, and when NPC yell of casualties, we did not see that much, when we say "the countless burning legion demons appear", we should see the countless, not the countable - number - The purge of Sthrathome, when you do that with Arthas, "the whole city" is just like a small town with few undead.zombies walking around. MAKE IT BIG, MAKE IT CROWDED in LEGION Blizzard, I am begging you.
Dalaran was one of the best city in the game, even now it have it's fashion, an ancient city, double bound with the lore of the true warcraft that follows the turning tides to always be where it's more needed. It was a beacon of unity and looked like Azeroth could and should be, a place where all the races works togheter putting aside their differences. It was awesome to see such a crowed city with both alliance and horde, it made the city looks alive, chaotic not to mention that it also was a great place for a lot of seasonal achivements and i'm not talking only of dalaran snowman!I cross my fingers to see another Dalaran like that, a new, true and pure beating heart of Azeroth.
I still have my Krasus coin. Can't remember how long I was there to get them all. Not to mention the hunt for the books and the sewer rat. 'Twas fun though.
With new Dalaran, give mages cool looking dalaran gear! The one all the npcs are wearing :)
i wonder if they'll keep it the same or redo it like with extra sections and stuff.
and we thought we had seen it all with all the mount/battlepet reskins.....what's next, a whole expansion reskinned in 2 weeks for 60€.....
WowInsider authors have a new site with lore articles.
Don't get me wrong but cause I love Dalaran, but the city/ship that should of been coming with us for this next expansion should of been Tempest Keep. I mean the Naruu are suppose to be this race that been fighting burning legion longer than we have but it seems they get pushed this flavored text or event stuff. Not mention we went through trouble of getting TK back under control, it seems that TK could of been something epic once blizzard remodeled/updated for what is needed for new city hub. Some of you are saying it wouldn't work because the engine is Draenei city but if they can create time paradox's and make us look past fact history is now all over place..they can get TK to Broken Isle.
Something I would like to see in Dal 2.0, since it's a neutral capital city, is NPC guards breaking up NPC fights between factions in the various pubs and streets.
As a person who didn't play in Wrath and didn't get to experience Dalaran... I hope they are able to capture and create the same experiences that made Dalaran a fond memory for most
Spent hundreds of hours in the Northrend Dalaran fishing for the Sewer Rat. Off and on since Wrath. Finally got it 2015 in WoD. Epic grind.Got every Jewelcrafting recipe from the Dalaran vendor. Fished up every coin. Got every Northrend cooking recipe. All grinds, especially the JC one as it took me months. And the Higher Learning books to collect. And the mounts and things we call toys these days. And turning on the lamps at night. And slow falling out of the lower sewer exit down to Crystalsong Forest.Drooling over the really expensive mounts. No way would I ever have enough gold to afford the most expensive mammoth. And when I finally scrimped and saved and worked my butt off to get a mammoth. Such an epic feeling. And hanging around for the compulsory gear inspection then arguing over which wing we'd do and then despite promises it was the same two wings we always did anyway.... ah those were the bits I hated as I had no gear at the time so had to work hard at talking my way into groups. But the best? The epic corpse walk all the way from the boat from Stormwind or the Zep from Orgrimmar over to Dragonblight, up the Path, the big drop off down to Crystalsong and so on. Then timing the flight and fall just right and... finally I had made it to Dalaran!Much later, when geared heheheh.... I would ride the Horde Zeps with my Ally toon. Kill all the NPCs. Arrive in Org and if lucky a quick jump to the other side of the tower onto the other Zep and rinse and repeat. Oh yeah. Gank a few players accidentally along the way.And so disappointed when flying was allowed all over Dal. No more posing with my huge ground mount collection. It was all about flying now. My Raven Lord mount? Took months to get. The Storm Peaks Polar Bear? Nobody cares. All people are interested in is the flying ones. As though Dal ever needed flying?
I may have to play the new expansion just to port people to ancient Dalaran again.
Memorial? I want a freaking Horde-free Dalaran! We cleared the city then they were still there. There was never a reversal of that of which I am aware. Theramore? Destroyed and gone to this day. Meanwhile Dalaran is like nothing ever happened.
