At approximately 1400 +damage, 1 spell haste gives the same dps as 1 +damage.
Think of the fetish as having 54 +damage (when you're at 1400 buffed). More damage than that? Haste is worth more. Less damage than that? Haste is worth less.
If you're over 1000 +dmg I'd go for the fetish - until then, use the orb to get your damage up first. The fetish is undoubtedly better though.

lol, This is the thread where I asked what spell haste does too. Spell Haste does exactly what it sounds like, it increases the spell rate at which you can cast spells. My question was what's the formula, and Wildhorn answered magnificently. Now take note, you'll need allot of spell haste to make a noticable difference.

How, at 1400, does 1 spell haste equal 1 damage? I really don't understand spell haste. Does it lower your cooldowns or does it lower global cooldowns? Or maybe something else?
I have no idea to be honest, its all a big load of theorycrafting over at
www.shadowpriest.com
. It lowers the global cooldown and the cast times of your spells. It doesn't affect cooldowns such as MB/SWD.

No, spell haste doesn't affect spell cooldowns. It affects the speed you can recast spells tho. You mind flay and shadow word pain will tick faster. Also when you cast instant spells, you can cast the next spell in your rotation sooner.
The spell cooldowns themselves are only affected by talents or gear that modify them.
