Here is my recommendation from version 2:
http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=f0ebRiZZxMjoMGRoxst
Ghostly Strike
is
useful in PvP, and considering what your other options are in the Sub tree, its worth the point. Also, having 3/3 in Opportunity is better than 5/5 in Camouflage.
The Assassination tree is where I made the most changes. 5/5 Lethality in PvP is only a rough increase of 2% DPS (researching for source). So swapping the points around to max out Vile Poisons is a better choice. Imp Expose Armor is a personal choice, I like it against clothies and other Rogues when I have the combo points to dump and don't need to refresh a Rupture. I also have been playing around in 2s with another Rogue, and having Imp EA on one of us is nice. If you would rather throw those points into Lethality, you wouldn't really gimp yourself by doing so.

My build
.
Because I like setup.
EDIT: On topic - well, you should max out initiative, drop 3 points in lethality and take imp. expose armor and max out vile poisons.

Do not ever use Envenom in PvP. Do not ever use Ambush Eviscerate is a last resort, only if a target is about to die that you can guarantee the finisher will kill them.
HShS overs higher survivability through key talents like Preparation and Cheat Death.
Get rid of the daggers and get a slow weapon with high damage. There is no set routine for PvP since every encounter is different. General rules of thumb are to open up with Cheap Shot unless its a mage / plate wearer. From there, stun and slow them the best you can and keep on their back as much as possible.
HShS is not an optimal choice for raiding, you can get away with it in lower Kara, and some of upper, but thats about it.
Also, as a side note, there are threads on the first page that address and answer every one of your questions. Since you revived a fairly old thread, I assume you are reading, but read more =).

is it that bad?

It requires that you use Deadly Poison which in PvP is a big no no. In PvE there are several other
better
options.
