I met some people in a random raid pug, ended up joining their guild, and from there, learned they lived only a few hours from me. After planning a trip to go visit them, we got to be pretty close, to the point they were in my wedding party when I finally got married... And all that came from someone randomly asking for one person to finish a raid.
One of my longest friends has always been there for me. I first started off in the Alliance, but I quickly began to lose my friends and stopped roleplaying with them. So I decided to join the Horde and see where it'd lead. There, I created Ryka Me'urra, my Blood Elf mage who was more of an engineer than a master of the Arcane, though she had the potential. She first started off in Silvermoon, until she met some friends who introduced her to the Wyvern's Tail in Orgrimmar. I had fun there and when I was bored, I decided to have Ryka make her way to the Tail again. Finally, she decided to move there to find a goblin teacher in engineering. There, she met a strange Forsaken while fighting with a Blood Elven friend of hers. He gave her a teddy bear because she was upset. She's had this bear for over 2 years. The Forsaken, Panor, introduced her to Gellix Thunderblast, a goblin engineer that took her on as his student.Since then, Panor and Gellix, both RPed by my friend Mason, has always been there for me. We fought once, but we dreaded it and we began talking again. He's always been by my side and he's someone I know I can trust. He introduced me to new friends like I'd been looking for and he's encouraged me to try something new. I believe I've gotten better at what I love to do because of him and I've let myself enjoy what I do without worrying about what others think when I RP. I know he'll be there for me, long after I stop playing World of Warcraft.
I made a good friend from another country in WoW while PvPing, hes a great guy and i enjoy playing and talking with him
I met my best friend back in BC during a BRD run. We spent hours a couple days later trying to finish the whole dungeon with only three of us. We were both young, and at the time what I thought was a gal in real life (as they played a female Draenei and claimed their real name was "Sara"; we were sisters!) turned out to be a young man my age. I ended up with the biggest crush on him. :PWe're just friends, but we still talk every day years down the road, and have since met in real life.

I have an amazing friend who I have been playing WoW with for several years. We actually worked at the same place of employment for a few years. He has since move to the opposite side of the country (Washington state to Virginia) but we still play together and keep in touch through Skype and cellphone/texting. He has helped me with hundreds if not thousands of quests over the years and even bought me a few Blizzard store mounts/pets. We both have very similar interests (love the smell of gunpowder in the morning) and someday I may move to his part of the country as the west coast is getting boring after 46 years.
I have played WoW for a very long time and have made many friends on the game. I have yet to ever meet any in real life. I took a break and came back a month prior to the release of MoP and joined a guild. A guild whom I have made many friends and have enjoyed doing many things with. Probably one of the best guilds and group of players I have ever been in and around since I started playing back in Vanilla. I am not sure I would want to be on a show, but our guild is going to have our first annual real life get together. This may be a game, but like any other online service friends can be made and made to last.
Ages ago I used to be friends with my brother's friend who also played WoW. My brother first met him on WoW and found out that he lived really near us, so we would sometimes go out and hang out with eachother, we'd also hang out in game too and do dungeons together and stuff like that. Sadly neither him or my brother's friend play WoW anymore, and I haven't seen or heard from my brother's friend for years. However I bet they will both be back as soon as WoD is released ^_^
I have a whole guild full of people I would love to meet. I've had the privilege of being Gm to a close knit group of friends I now think of as an extended family. It would be hard to pick just one of them to meet, so I would have to go with the one I've known the longest. I've been playing with him since before the guild was founded, when I was just a girl roaming the wilds of Azeroth with her (death)knight in shining armor, a fantastic guy we all know as X. It would be awesome to give him and his wife a big hug.
The greatest friend i got in WoW is was a very charming girl that played a gnome priest. we spent a lot of time playing the game together and talking outside of it. Sadly, she moved to another country and from then we have lost a lot of contact.
I have met several great guys in my guild who I chat with all the time. Even planning to meet one if he comes for a business trip to my area.
It feels like forever ago, but at the same time, it feels like yesterday. I was playing my brand new tauren druid with my real life friend when we came across another tauren. The other tauren was yelling at Ahab Wheathoof. It was hilarious and I made my real life friend wait while I talked to the stranger.I didn't think that this would be the way that I met my best friend in the world. We've been there for each other through the good and the bad. No matter what happens, we'll always be there for each other. If you're reading this Fael, I love you and I appreciate all that you've done for me! <3
My husband and I didn't meet in WOW but we do play WOW together. We have met many wonderful people throughout the years we have played and have made some really great friends.
There are so many stories I could tell, but one important one is of how I met Eric andd Sam. I had just joined my first guild, and I saw two guildies with matching names questing across HF. I was genuinely afraid of interacting with fellow players, which is why I didn't join a guild until I was well above lvl 60. Sam and Eric turned out to be the nicest people in game or irl that i've ever met. Sam is from NZ. Eric is from across the U.S.
Almost three years too late for me to apply. My relationship didn't start in World of Warcraft. I met a guy on Facebook and we hit it off really well, and he was excited to find out that I played WoW (although I just started two weeks before ever meeting him, when 4.2 went live). World of Warcraft provided us with a lot of bonding experience. Even after we finally met and began to hang out periodically, we would still play World of Warcraft together. It helped pass the time until our next meeting. We're now happily engaged, and have a cute rivalry going on World of Warcraft now that I've learned to kick his butt in a duel. Remember: A couple that plays together, stays together!
I met my first fiancee raiding during BC. We may have split up, but we're still great friends ^_^
I met 2 "cool" people from Norway during an LFG dungeon, at first it was random chatter then we got together on skype and did dungeons together, very fun experience.
I've met a lot of friends in WoW. There's one who I still talk to weekly even though he doesn't play anymore. We've never met in person because of the distance, but we've got a loose open invitation to go out for drinks if one of us is ever in the area.
