Giving people a 90?

I don't see why people are getting so worked up over one free 90. It's not like there aren't already hordes of maxxed characters (who got there the hard way) that don't know how to play their class.

I can promise you all one thing:
This tiny change will completely ruin the Warcraft franchise
forever
, just like Pandas, Archaeology, Death Knights, Blood Elves, the concept of an MMORPG set in an RTS universe, and Battle.net all did.
Ruined forever
, I tell you.

I see so many mixed emotions about this subject it isn't funny.
I do agree with the opposition in some aspects however I do not think you should just get a free 90.
You could in theory buy unlimited 90's.
In example: Buy 5 copies of wow.
Then get your free 90 on each of those accounts.
After that small and easy bunch of steps you simply transfer each of those to one account.
In effect you have 5 90's and you have not yet even killed one mob or herbed one time.
Yes it is a bit pricey but 200 usd will get you enough to be the "1337 m0fugga you always wanted to be but couldn't because you weren't motivated and/or dedicated enough."
To say you would only be in theory aloud just one is a bunch of toasted oats with mouse droppings in them.

If someone wants to go spend that kind of money to do as you suggest, LordDrainu, I say let them. All they're doing is ensuring WoW lasts even longer.
One toon being bumped to 90 doesn't concern me and there is nothing that completely prevents me from removing terrible players that don't know their class as a result of this... in fact, there are people out there who level from 1 to 90 (or 100) and still suck just as bad.
I just don't personally see why people would even make a big deal over this.

It is very different to be out questing in the wider world, compared to doing 5 mans, and compared to doing raids. You need different skills for different content. As long as this is somehow made clear to new players, I don't think it'll be a problem.

Do you get the feeling sometimes that some people only want to see the negative behind something and will find a way to make it negative even if it really isn't that big a deal?
The main aim of this particular feature is squarely at the people who have left the game at various stages and who wouldn't want to wade through all of the other content that they left the game because of, just to be able to try the latest expansion. If you left because of the changes made in Lich, Cata or Pandaria then the last thing you want to have to do is be forced to run through all of that content just to prep a character for the latest one.
As for 'Kiddies' running about, well some of the most immature people i have met in the game have been between the ages of 25-40, i would be more worried about those than the 14yo tank who actually wants to play the game.
I also have a little problem with the whole "what about the people that have worked so hard for their characters" thing as well? It is a game, not a job, it isn't like the bosses nephew has been promoted in above you, the people buying the game will be paying the same sub as anyone else and are just as entitled to enjoy the content with everyone else as the guy who has played since launch (of which i am one BTW), i really don't see the problem.

I was dreading the influx of all the brand new players starting at Level 90 and having no clue what to do, but I guess you make a valid point in how there are already tons of people that can't play their class who did level from scratch.
My biggest problem is going to figure out what class I'd pick as my 90. My main server has all slots filled, so I'm stuck making it on another server. It would make sense picking a Shaman or Monk as those are the only two classes I don't have a Level 80+ of, but than again I do enjoy leveling from the ground up, which is hard when I have a Level 90 sitting around already!

I personally didn't see why people would make such a big deal over LFR, or the removal of the Daily limit, or gear equalization in BGs. To each their own, Sas.

I wasn't making a big deal over it... I just wanted to see what everyone else thought.
Tried to start conversation with like minded people.
Sorry if I have upset you, that wasn't my intention. However it seems you dislike many of the things I post about. Would it be safe to assume you don't like me then?
Back on track, I was just looking at it as also a problem with people selling accounts for money it would be so easy for someone to invest their money into an account and flip it for a 2/3 profit. The numbers are there and it would be a viable means of making people uber strong to back it up. Know what I mean?
Case in point: Someone starts an account with 5 new 90's using the technique I have stated earlier levels them all easily up 10 levels gears them decently and you have a new means of selling accounts faster. I for one so not like people selling accounts it just isn't right. Not to mention the legal issues involved.
To take it even further this would help those who would make gold to sell it and make money much easier. Another stupid venture but a profitable one at that. couple the two together and you have a WOW mafia typed group of people flooding servers with cheats. Just my opinion.

As we have no idea just how 'easy' it would be to get from 90-100 yet then it is a purely hypothetical situation that we are stepping in to. For anyone to make their money back on a scheme like that would not only take the initial investment of money, but a severe amount of time in levelling all of the characters. once all of that is factored in along with how much you would have to sell it for to firstly make any money, but also stay within the realms of not making it too expensive that someone would just buy their own account and level the characters themselves.
You also have to think that a basic L100 character is no good to anyone really, if you want to attract the crowd that would buy an account it would have to be raid or PvP geared to a decent level and as it would be a new expansion then that would not be possible straight away.
Would it be possible for someone to do, well yes, but would it be worth someones while to bother doing it, very probably not.

Already have a Level 90 Lock. Though two are better than one I guess ;)

I see where you are coming from but I just can't see 90 to 100 being hard at all. This isn't vanilla wow when stuff was hard to get. This is modern wow... great in my opinion but a tad too easy don't you think?
As for investments I can see what you are saying. Would you know how much people actually do sell accounts for? I was told people bid on them on ebay. For that to be a solid study I would need Auctioneer the mod for Ebay. (Lmao)
I guess if you would do it legally and drop 5 90's on one account and go for there it might be a bit of work but dang wouldn't that be sweet to start out with so many high levels right at the start of the xpac?
Have you by chance signed up for the BETA?
What is your opinion on the system reqs since it seems they are upgrading the graphics and such for the new WOD xpac

It may not be hard to level but it would be time consuming and if what is up for sale at the moment is anything to go by, you would be spending double the amount in cash you could make back and a hell of a lot of time to produce a character that would be barely sale worthy anyway. Then add to that, that if you get caught trying to sell it, you could have the account banned before you make anything at all or end up having to pay back the poor guy who bought it and then had it banned.
Not sure i would sign up for Beta to be honest, i have been in on a couple and regretted it a little afterwards, i much prefer to sign in on the day of release and try everything out fresh and new.
