You only need 1 mount: Reins of the Dark Phoenix.

Well, that's one I can't get, as my personal guild can't get any Dungeon or Raid achievements.
I'm fond of the Spotted Frostsaber as a ground mount, and I like the Flameward Hippogryph for my flying mount. I like the Hippogryph because you can mount it in water, and I think it looks cool.
Cheers.

You could get one of your alts into a guild that has the Phoenix, and then all of your characters will share it...

As someone has done 3 complete reboots, I love it every time. I just re-subbed after a 9 month hiatus too and contemplating a reboot. Every time it has been a complete giveaway and delete of characters, never repurchased though. Battlenet wide achieves would change that I guess.
Half the fun is just meandering through the old worlds, re-discovering content I had long forgot about and getting away from the daily crap that awaits at end game. I personally don't think the game starts at max level. If it doesn't start at lvl 1, you are missing so much.
Really liberating, really exciting. Highly recommend it.

Its not my intention to bash anyone's opinion, and if rebooting makes you happy, go for it, but I really REALLY don't see the point of doing such a thing.
Why would you invest so much time, effort, and money in acomplishing a goal if you then are gonna tear it down?
To me, creating an account, making several characters, leveling them all up to the cap, gearing some or all of them, harvesting mounts, pets, titles, achievements, tabards, transmog sets, attaining a high arena rating, completing legendary quests, getting exalted with everyone, and then DELETING EVERYTHING is akin to going to all the years in highschool, graduate as Valedictorian, then 5 years of college, then 10 years of med school, graduate as Summa Cum Laude, and then................... burning your diploma, hacking at the records to delete yourself from it, and basically, make it as if you NEVER did any of those things, and then reroll once more in highschool to do everything again from zero.
Why do you even bother to do something if you're gonna tear it down the moment you finish? would an architect spend years building a grand castle, only to order 10 bulldozers to destroy it as soon as its finished?
It just doesn't make ANY sense to me whatsoever.

It's like spending days building a massive sand castle on a beach, then tearing it down and starting over. You know why? Because the building was fun.
That's me. The leveling is fun. The guild leveling is fun. The process of getting achievements is fun. The process of getting Rep, Mounts, Pets is fun.
Cheers.

That analogy doesn't make sense. Sand castles don't take days to build, they are built in a short time, and WILL self-destruct when the tides rise, whether you want it or not.
Plus while the process of making more castles is indeed fun, why must the previous ones be destroyed in order to make it more fun? that does not compute. Its like a writer, dedicating a large chunk of his life writing a book, only to burn it when its completed. I'm sure writers enjoy writing more books, but how on earth would burning their previous works make the process ANY fun whatsoever?
Its tearing apart your own accomplishments gonna do anything to make them meaningful? doubtful.
That's a lot like playing the lottery for years, and when you finally win, you burn the money. It just doesn't make any sense.
The Leveling, guild leveling, getting achievements, getting rep, mounts, pets, alts, all of that can be done without tearing apart your previous work. It just makes me wonder just what the point of putting any amount of effort in the game is, if the one thing you are going to do is destroy your own progress.
I'm a chef, and I take great pride in preparing delicious meals, I particularly enjoy making cakes. And I enjoy greatly making more cakes once the one I'm working on is done. Would destroying my previous cakes (rather than eat them) make my job any more fun? I don't think so.
I just don't get it :S

If you got to blow them up with C4, then it might be more fun.
I also like to start over on stuff. Like when I play Minecraft, I find it to be a lot of fun starting out, punching trees and making a makeshift shelter of dirt. Going and getting material to build a nice house will all this awesome equipment.
But I wouldn't delete my old saves to start a new one, unless they are really old and having nothing on them.

BTW: Just thought I'd let you know that I have my first level 90 as of Saturday. All details are in my blog.

I was really kicking myself for creating a new account, buying all expansions until MoP etc. But now after I've read your thread it's made me feel a little less crazy, and I see the real reason I did it! Thanks :)

Each to their own I suppose but this strikes me as a massive almost obscene waste of money, time and effort.
I still feel guilty for my time investment in the game and I have my original characters, rare items, mounts etc to show for it.
Unless you have 50 full slots then I do not understand why you cannot just roll a new toon on a server where you have non, then show some restraint with anything that you could boost yourself with.

A waste? You have some pixels and I don't. Big deal. The money, time, and effort was spent enjoying the game. If you check out my blog, you'll see that I already have 2 90s, and am working on others, so it's really no different from playing original characters, is it, as long as I'm enjoying myself.
And, I've stated in this thread already why I really wanted to start clean, instead of just starting on a new server under the same account. Mainly because I wanted achievements to feel fresh and exciting again.
Cheers.
