A common misconception is that socialists are addicted to lentils and tofu. This is not true. It is disinformation, designed to distract attention from the sheer numbers of our own young that we actually eat each year.
I knew it.

It is a hugely common misconception that the grammatical rules of the bastardized pseudo-Germanic language that we are speaking have any value beyond the facilitation of basic cooperative understanding.

I agree. Amazing how some people can't post a simple opinion EVER without being quoted, isn't it?
The most common misconception ever: "I could care less" is NOT the same thing as "I couldn't care less".
Probably all Americans. You know how Americans are.

Mormons can drink caffeine. It's coffee we abstain from.

Aye. No coffee or tea, whether decaffeinated or not. Some people think we can't have hot chocolate as well, but that's false.

I had never heard either coffee nor caffeine. Why no coffee?

9 And again, hot drinks are not for the body or belly.
"Hot drinks" being defined as coffee/tea at the time. Most believe that it is because those drinks employ tannin (which is why herbal teas are kinda iffy).
Edit: Section 89 is also where we get the commandment to not smoke (tobacco is named specifically, and others are implied, such as marijuana) or drink alcohol.

Tall people don't have a heart.
This is a common misconception?

Not all Europeans have English accents, no matter what 300, Spartacus, Immortals, and Da Vinci's Demons would have you think. Instead, if they spoke English, they'd probably have Greek or Italian accents.

Every Rom steals... (This is common misundersranding in Finland)
Every Russian woman is a hooker.
British people only hobby is having a tea party.
Tall people don't have a heart. (Well how they pump blood into their veins?)
More you drink healthier you get...
Never heard of any of these as 'common misconceptions' before. -_-

I'll also mention us Canadians too. The 'stereotypical' Canadian accent is usually Newfie, but even Newfoundland has several different accents. Really though, most Canadian's are just boring without any special flair to our voice. I guess the most obvious of our accents are Newfie (which sometimes is so strong is sounds Irish or Scottish) and prairie accents, which has a southern kinda drawl to it. Everyone else (myself included) sounds plain haha.

This is also interesting. I really don't know anything about Mormons, and the stuff I DO know comes from pop culture, which we know isn't the best teacher :P It's an interesting point to know!

In that other post he says "in Finland".
It's commonly thought, by Finnish people, that tall people don't have hearts? Lol.

Some of the pop culture stuff about Mormon
culture
is true (especially stuff about Provo), but it almost always gets the actual doctrine wrong.

And thats a misconception right there.
Tell me, exactly what an English accent is, or a Greek or Italian?
We don't all talk like Jame Bond, or a lovable cockney rogue, Not all Greeks sound like Stavros the kebab shop owner, and I've never heard an Italian say "Itsa me...Mario"I know not all English share the same accent, and I know not Italians share the same accent.
But I am absolutely certain Leonardo Da Vinci did not look or sound like
this
.
