Why must we kill our own kind?

My point, which should be obvious, is that abortion has killed more people (and yes, I not only "believe" that a fetus is a "person", but I feel science has proven as much to all but the most die-hard Pro-Murder crowd.)
True abortion has killed more people then wars (if you belive that a fetus is a "person" then yes if you don't like I then no). (I personaly think after "the baby has come from you know where" is a "person").
Abortin is one of the cruelest thing that humans can do (if you don't count diseases which humans have made).
killerdinoblood, is that you?
Internal jokes aside, we don't "have" to kill our own kind, but we do, for a variety of reasons. Many, most, are bad reasons or not reasons at all, but much like Adams says, humans in general do many strange things - the killing of other humans is just one of those.

That sounds pretty abstract. Also pretty incorrect. While the
CDC reports
roughly a million a year (on average),
World War 2 alone
cost 40-72 million people their lives. World War 1 was another 15-65 million.
And while I think late-term abortion is horrible, it is most certainly not
the cruelest thing that humans can do (if you don't count diseases which humans have made).Go spend some time researching
cruel
things
people
can
do
to
each
other
. Abortion is practically humane by comparison.
And no, I'm pretty sure humans haven't created diseases. If you're talking about the rumour that HIV was made by the government, that's just flat out not true.

No in all seriousness people have been violent as far back as our history goes, our laws get better, but we don't on an individual basis. the best improvements we have made are that as society we have, at least in part, rejected some of the barbarism that our more ancient ancestors practiced.
Sometimes i think war is justified and even necessary, but it's always ugly. There is no such thing as a "clean" war.
People are always going to be violent and hurt each other, it will never change. The best you can expect is to be a good person yourself and not try and control the rest of society.
EDIT: I'm pretty much against any abortion had out of convince (in other words, when conception is not the result of rape or incest or something that presents a danger to the mother). But it absolutely is not responsible for more deaths than war.
People always like to look at the big ones, but fail to realize that the planet is literally at all times in a perpetual state of war. There have been over one hundred wars or uprisings in Africa just in the last 50 years.
Hell the Rwandan genocide killed more people per month than the holocaust. 800,000 people in less than three months.

I agree with Entropyutd's assessment. The tribal mentality rears its head all over the place, and people will get violent over even superficial distinctions between the "us" group and the "them" group. Race, religion, political affiliation, national origin, social status, gender and even sports team affiliation have all been used as ways to define these categories, but they're more excuses to justify the us vs. them than a direct cause of it.
Part of the tribal mentality is to dehumanize the other group. People usually don't think if the atrocities they commit as being against people, but against "Racial slur," "Sexual Orientation Slur," or "Misogynistic derogatory word." They see them as something other than themselves, something lesser and so all the rules of how they should themselves be treated, or people who are part of the "us," go out the window when thinking of "them."

Nothing is ever anyone's fault. A person shoots up a school, and we better blame gun manufacturers. Someone throws acid on a school girl's face, and we need to blame religion. North Korea threatens nuclear war, and it's the media's fault. Iranian prisons are hell on earth for Christian evangelists, and it's America's fault.
Name one thing you hate WORSE than personal responsibility.

Can't we blame both?
If someone shoots up a school then there's no question of their blame for the act but you'd be crazy not to look at what makes or allows those things to happen in a larger sense and try to find ways to prevent it happening again. You may not like the things that some people think contribute to those acts but why would you oppose the process of investigation and prevention?

Let's not bring gun control into this.

And why not? Why is that not an integral part of this discussion?

Trollfucious thinks that this sounds like the worst party ever, but he has not had a party for a long time and so he will bring potato salad and Scrabble, and hopefully there will be some fun.

I have no idea what you are talking about. If you are talking what I think you are talking about, I don't understand how it relates. What does our popularity have to do with personal responsibility?

we'll let actions speak instead of propaganda. if a single missile strike or bomb lands in America, that's when we unleash our full might.
till then, they are innocent little creatures in their little world trying to feel powerful and special by using skyrim copyrighted songs and video games as part of their propaganda.

I can't tell if you are completely ignorant of events going on in North Korea, and past events, or if you are just trolling.

if you see something, and you feel it needs to be changed. odds are, it's the total opposite.
how dangerous is it for christians for even going into hostile territory with the intent knowing THEY WILL GET KILLED. god granted, they will be rewarded by the most high god and will receive the crown according to the bible, but dang. it's the same concept as telling a young person to go blow up a building for God. same concept for missionaries going into these countries and risking their lives, and usually end up dying.
they are still in the stone ages of religion, and it's not going to change anytime soon.
