i'm currently levelling my rogue in MoP and it's pretty slow going, came across a rare elite 88 LvL mob while i'm @ 87 - see a 87 ally preist and throw out an invite - they accept - said good luck and I went at the elite - it took awhile but w/the heals and some help we got the rare elite down and both cheered - said ty and went to go about our way - I stopped and asked if they need the rest of the mobs in the area for the quests - we linked quests and I was able to go off dps'ing while getting heals (it was great as any other rogues know MoP levelling for us sucks) we cleared the area exchanged tyvm's and yw's - bows - salutes - waves - said good bye and good luck and went our seperate ways. It was fun to just help each other like that and to be thankful to each other for the help. I haven't had that happen since TBC days.

I remember getting a "big sister" for about half an hour. I was around lvl 6 and was accompanied by a lvl 90 Pandaren who effectively killed all mobs for me after allowing me to hit them once or twice so that I got the loot.I also had a lot of buffs from her. Then she said she was waiting for a raid and had to leave me. But the buffs lasted for a while ;)

I want to say, that seeing post like these make me glad I am part of the WoW community. Nothing like showing a random act of kindness to bolster the spirits of players. I think from now on, I will try to find one cool thing to do to a random person in game each time I log in.
Keep up the great work guys and gals!

I have the pattern for vial of sands. With someones mats I make the mounts free of charge. I don't want to hold someone back after they have work so long to get the mats and gold together. I've made about 13-14 of them to date.

Every Winter Veil, I like to wrap up stuff (rare pets, purple BoE items, stuff like that), create a new character with a Christmas-y name, and send things out to random peoples, and delete that character after sending.

most recievers would delete instantly....as it could be a scam
I've yet to see any acts of kindness in WoW and I've not really performed any.
perform more, and maybe you'll have people be nice to you!

Many years ago, I was leveling my now-main (priest) in the barrens, and had a very hard time finding the turn-in point for some quest from Wailing Caverns. I'm especially "challenged" when it comes to jumping and had a hard time getting into the eye sockets of the big skull-rock there. There was this other priest there, and he helped me get to the right place. He said to me, we priests ought to stick together.
We ended up becoming good friends over the years. I actually visited him once irl on a trip to the UK, and we spent a day together. It was pretty romantic.

When im flying around starting zones and see some players leveling, somewhere around levels 8 to 11, ill just go to them chat a bit just to see how long they have been playing, first toon, how long on server just some small talk and then ill toss them a bunch of gold so it isnt such a pain to try and get riding skill and other things. i remember when i was low level starting out and people helped me so im giving back.

Loved your story, Strandvaskeren - what a nice druid that was, and how nice of you to help his guild so much.

I agree! When WoW players stick together, there's nothing more awesome in-game, IMO. :) I'm also doing what you are - a nice thing to a random person each day. Keep spreading the love! :D

Very true - kindness is a two-way street, and sometimes you've got to make the first move.

While I do like to help people both in-game and irl, I have to say that I haven't found that to be true throughout my years playing WoW. More often than not, the only place you'll get help is within your guild. The people you help will not usually help you back, and when you help you realize it's probably a sacrifice. I even had this one pretty good friend in game whom I often helped just because I liked to (between my various characters I had inscription, JC, alchemy, cooking, etc, and often gave him stuff or gave him drops that would benefit them when I was farther ahead than he was in the game). He never once helped me back because it was "too much work." But you don't help because you expect help back, you help because you're a person who likes helping. Kinda stopped helping him, though.

@karatechop - How could a free item be a scam? Heck, even if it is a grey item wrapped up in a pretty package, it is still free to the person receiving it. And if it is sent as a CoD, you just decline it.
@Bluerobe - Nice generalization there. I am sure you can tell someone is a virgin just by how they talk in trade chat and act in a group. If that was the case, I would assume everyone that speaks in trade on my server has an IQ of 20 and all have been diagnosed with lissencephaly.

This, pretty much. I don't doubt that there are some paranoid people who delete every mail they get from a stranger, but I see no rational reason to do so. IIRC they even changed it a while ago, so you can't send gift-wrapped packages as CoD anymore.

If someone's looking for something in trade and I happen to have it in my bank, I'll just mail it to them and say 'Have a good day!' Stuff just accumulates in my bank anyway and I don't have the time nor patience to put it on the AH. It's a good way to just clear some space!
