"I would not call myself empty," Dag'rema answered bitterly. "With burning black anger clawing at the edges of my mind, and hatred boiling in the pit of my stomach, I think emptiness--oblivion--would be far preferable a state. I'm so full of destructive thoughts and feelings, it's literally tearing me apart. Without the Legion; without that promise of an End someday, I think I'd go stark raving mad."

"Sometimes it is hard to see the emptiness when it is filled with transient feelings," Vashadya said, "even when it feels as though they are all that is solid that is left to you."

"Perhaps I should simply say 'I disagree,' and leave it at that," Dag'rema murmured. "Supposing you were right, do you even have a solution? And don't just tell me to let go of all my pain and anger. It's not that simple."

"I have ideas, but no certainties... I do not even know precisely what happened to mine," Vashadya confessed, sighing again, then looked the warlock in the eyes, "but it helps to have a friend."

Dag'rema didn't answer, merely looking at the ground. She wanted to say that she didn't want a friend, but she wasn't sure if that was true Honestly, she wasn't sure at all what she wanted. She wanted to rip something apart, and she wanted to just give up and let Gurka kill her. And yet, another part of her wanted to trust the elf and believe that she could be helped.

"They're quite obviously idiots," Gurka replied, glancing back down at the guards.

"Sometimes I wonder if they can tell..." Vashadya thought out loud, halting next to Rotha and Gurka, "amongst themselves that is."

"No, of course not," Gurka answered, still frowning at the halflings. "They're just too simple to tell the difference."

"I'd recommend you learn," Gurka suggested, cracking her knuckles. "Unless you just need a lesson in manners."

Vashadya blinked, momentarily distracted.
"I had hoped he was referring to the children," the night elf said finally, with a pointed stare in the goblin's direction, attempting to defuse the situation, "but he should show a Priestess of Elune the respect she deserves."

The night elf appeared taken aback. "I am referring to her," Vashadya stated in response, maintaining a polite tone, "and unless you would prefer I refer to you as female, I trust you will not forget that."

Gurka sighed and rubbed her forehead, before turning to Rotha. "You okay?" she asked. "You, uh, got a little upset for a moment there."

"I mean, I understand your anger," Gurka stated huffily. "If someone mistook me for a male, I'd probably break their nose..." she chuckled. "Just want to make sure you've cooled down."

Vashadya exhaled quietly and shook her head, slowing her pace in order to remain alongside the others and not so near the rude goblin.
