Peter quickly made hsi way through the cobbled streets. Casting a slightly wide space about him, as people naturally took a few step back at the slightly pungent odour which he trailed behind like a miasma. Peter shrugged his shoulders, adjusting his pack. Though he wasn't acutely aware of what his presence was prompting, even he could tell something was different in the people around him.
It wasn't until he made his way up the steps to the rookery and the flight master looked at him that he learned of it with a few simple words. They being: "Light lad, what is that smell!"

Elsa glared at the flightmaster, daring him to make any further comments, and tossed Peter a bottle of rather overpowering perfume, having just used it on herself. She doubted the priest would appreciate the overly feminine scent, she certainly did not herself, but she felt it was unlikely they would get a chance to wash off the smell anytime soon.

Peter caught the perfume. He gave Elsa a grateful look as he began applying it liberally to himself.
The flight master, though unsure if it was an improvement, had no intention of antagonizing the young thief. So, breathing lightly through his mouth, turned to her. "So, what'll it be?"

Elsa's expression became no less hostile, "two gryphons," she replied curtly.

The girl smiled winningly, the marking beneath her eyes crinkling slightly. "Cregga Rosehip. So," she turned back to Maximilian, "what brings you to my neck of the woods? Decided to finally learn some real magic instead of just parlour tricks, Max?" Cregga asked with an amused smirk.
The illusionist scowled. "Oh yeah, the amazing art of licking yourself. No thanks. Listen Cregga, I'm on a bit of a deadline. Emphasis on dead and the line soon to be crossed. I need to see the witch. And don't call me Max!"
The girl gasped ion mock hurt. "You mean, you didn't come to see me? Not even to reminisce on the good old days? Why Max," she sighed, swoonign melodramatically, "you wound me."
"I will if you keep calling me Max!"
The unusually attired girl giggled. The furs which draped her body shifting at the motion. She shook her head with amusement and glanced his way. "Alright, alright. But, it'll cost you. The usual, of course."
At this, Max grinned. He cracked his knuckles. "Fine with me."
Cregga nodded steadily. "Very well. But first, who's the chick," she added, looking to the harpy. "Never seen her before?"

The griffon master shrugged and wandered away to retrieve the animals. Peter slid up next to Elsa and handed her back the bottle. "Thank you," he whispered.

She shrugged. "Hm. Suppose not. Come on," she said, turning away with a beckoning gesture. "Isn't too far away from here." At that she began to make her way into the woods, in the same direction as the undead from before.

"Don't mention it," Elsa shrugged, neither fond of the perfume nor its rightful owner, "keep it, if you want to."

Elsa nodded and left the bottle lying around on a nearby bench, for someone else to find and
enjoy,
before making her way towards the gryphons.

Peter followed once the gryphon master returned, the reigns for two of the golden beasts in hand. "Where' ya goin' this time?" he asked mildly, offering the creatures to the pair.

Max sullenly followed the girl through the skeletal woods. The breeze whispered through the trees, sending grey leaves fluttering in their path, and roots seemed to reach up form the ground to tip the young illusionist. Cregga paid them no mind, even playing by hopping over the larger ones and dancing through the upset leaves in her bare feet.
At length the trees made way for a small, ill kept and squat cottage. A thatched roof hung heavily over the depressed stones of the building while vines made do crawling up the brickwork. Moss seemed content infesting the base of the home. Two windows with shutters barred glared malevolently at the travelers, while the thick oak door leading inside remained battered shut against the cold. A single stone chimney perched on the rear of the building, puffing out a steady stream of betraying smoke, and a small pile of firewood sat forlornly beside a chopping block and axe.
The yard was little as such, seeming more an extension of the forest with the pale and bony trees crowding in on the home protectively. A vast array of dismal though healthy flowers sprouted hither and thither. Interspersed between them oddly enough were weapons, armour, and the like in various states of decay and rust. Like a castle's armoury had exploded and dumped it's contents on the cottage's front lawn.
Cregga smiled condescendingly. She turned, skirt and pelts spinning about as she leaned forward, arms crossed behind her back. "Here it is," she said with clear amusement, throwing her arms out in mock grandness. "Home sweet hovel."

"South,"
Elsa replied, regarding the flightmaster suspiciously as she seized the reins of her gryphon.

The man glared at her from behind his goggles. Peter looked between them, not sure why such secrecy was essential, but trusting that Lesa knew what she was doing.
At length, the flight master scoffed, tossing Peter the reigns to his own mount. "Whatever. The birds'll take you to the standard route. Hop off and pay whoever happens to be there when you arrive where you're going."

Max grimaced slightly at the sight. "It looks about as I expected."
Cregga chuckled with amusement. "What? You didn't assume I lived in the Ritz? Whyever not?" Shaking her head with amusement she turned the knob of the ancient wooden door, opening it wide. "Well, come on. Baba!" she called, strutting into the home. "I'm hooome! And I brought visitors too." she glanced back at Max and the Harpy, eye twinkling teasingly. "Try not to eat these ones," she added before vanishing inside.
Max grunted and ducked into the hovel.

The hut was even smaller inside than the outside made it appear. The walls were crowded with shelves holding stopped bottles and vials filled with all manner of grisly ingredients. The floors was barely visible, but what could be seen were ancient wood which thudded beneath the feet. A cauldron was settled over the chimney fire near the corner, bubbling merrily away over a licking fire. There was few furniture save a table and a few chairs, though even these were not spared the encroaching nicknacks, being covered in yellow paged books and several more bottles with labels telling their grisly contents. The only thing freed of this encroaching deluge of items was a single large and fantastically carved rocking chair sitting near the corner. Empty but showing the marks of frequent use judging by the blankets which were placed atop, thrown to the side as if someone had just gotten up.
Max plodded down the three stairs leading to the ground floor from the door, having to dance awkwardly around the items on the floor to advance.
From an open door leading into what appeared to be a kitchen, an ancient woman appeared. Bent with age, she was somewhat short and broad. A thin shawl was draped over her shoulders, while her dress appeared to be more several tattered garments stitched together to make one ragged, brown dress. She held tightly in her skeletal grip a tall staff, while tiny eyes peered out from beneath heavy wrinkles and behind a pair of cracked glasses at the room.
"Cregga?" the old woman asked, hobbling into the room. "What's going on now? Hmm? Eh...Company?"
The young woman smiled and made her way through the room, taking the elderly woman's hand and leading her towards the rocking chair. "Yes Baba, company. It's my old friend, Max and someone named Serai. They came here to see you."
"Did he?" Baba asked, settling into her ancient rocking chair with a creak. Though if it was from the aged wood or her bones, Max couldn't tell. Baba smiled, stretching her mouth wide and adding several dozen new wrinkles to her face. "Is that so? How nice. You never bring friends over, my dear. I was starting to worry," Baba said, placing her bony hands over Cregga's affectionately.
The young woman chuckled slightly, withdrawing her hand. She turned to Max and the harpy and gestured for them to come closer.

Max coughed. "Ah, yes. Hello miss Bab. We came here for something in particular. I'm trying to find someone, and I need a charm to do so. My master, Razzamataz said-."
"Would you like some sweets?" she asked, reaching back and opening her hand, revealing several pieces of toffee. "All young people like candy, that I know for sure. Heheh!"
"Err...thank you," Max said slowly, reaching out and talking one of them. He examined the toffee somewhat uneasily when the old woman passed her hand to the harpy in offering.
