Yeah, I see your point. Most sequels are rehashes of the same game. The first game is inspired and the rest are just shadows of that inspiration. That's kind of like the Matrix trilogy. The first was ZOMG AWESOME, and the other 2 were just action movies with keanu reeves. meh.

Not in Assasins Creeds case, the AC2 series>AC1. Everything is just overall better in AC2.

Guild Wars 2, Endless Space (multiplayer specifically), the expansion to Saints Row 3 & Rome Total War 2, if it is ever going to come out.

GTA V, Borderlands 2, and Guild Wars 2 are the next big ones on my radar.

I can't believe I forgot to mention Bioshock infinity and Crysis 3.

most sequels are, but not in AC's case. As Lombax said, the difference between AC2's quality and AC1 is as vast as the ocean. People just love to slap the words rehash and rip-off on everything these days, since they take 1 single thing in common 2 products have, ignore EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THE DIFFERENCES between them, and swear to god they are identical.
As Skithus said, sports games are just rehash after rehash, ditto for racing games. All you get is updated graphics and maybe if you are lucky, different players (that differ from each other only in pixels, since gameplay wise they are all the same) and different cars on racing games (where if you are lucky, maybe they have different stats, for the most part though, they all handle the same)
Its why I don't like neither racing games, nor sports games. And in FPS this "Sequelitis" syndrome is also prevalent, though not always. For example, halo 1 2 and 3 are all the same. But the differences between Half-Life 1 and 2 are as vast as the differences between a bicycle and a ferrari.

#78- What is the next game coming out that you're excited about?
Kingdom Hearts 3D. Localization is almost done, and IIRC, it's set to release in America July 21st. #78- What would you like to do when you retire?
Sarcasm
Golf.

Like to live on Hawaii, spending lots of time with the people I care most about. Even though i don't really want to retire from the job I want. (would like to run a store of some sort)

Probably what I'm doing right now, except in a nice temperate (climate-wise) state in a house by a lake.

Write books. That's really what I want to do right now as well, but my time is kind of limited.

Speaking of which, how did the publishing go? You mentioned there were interested parties in one of your books last time I saw one of your posts on the L&RP.

Write books and design games. I would also get a rocking chair and a fricking pipe and I would tell stories to my grandchildren, if I will ever have any, and they will be the craziest and best stories anyone will ever tell them.

Gaming and cuddling. Even if I'll be so lonely that I only have a pillow to cuddle with.

It ended with a tentative "We might be interested on a later date, we like the concept bla-bla-bla but we've got other projects with priority bla-bla". So, no luck.

Sorry to hear that.

I really don't want to think that far ahead. :/ Maybe writing though, unless I'd done a lot of it while working.
