best name for a wow's pet, as I said before, is when Ireney named her Mini-sunreaver Construct "Lil'Rankky" =D
Best name for a character I've seen is a worgen rogue called "Worgverine" and i dunno if I dreamed that, but "Sirpwnalot"

Boyfriend's dwarf monk is called Flagonborn, and that I thought was pretty great. His cousin had a NE brewmaster that he called Heinelfkin on the recommendation of my BF as well. I named my black and white pandaren monk Tuxshido. I don't know if those are the best, but they're the newest ones we have come up with.
My favorite name ever on a character, though, was a friend of mine who called his male enhancement shaman "Extenze."

This works a lot better. Now if only I wasn't drunk, I could think of an answer. The concept of "best" in this case doesn't really apply for me though.

On my huntard, my pets are all named after superheroes or pets IRL.
I think names in game should be something you could name someone in real life. I think compound names are silly honestly, but that's just me. Although, the shaman I found who was named Saggytaint with the Salty title was probably the funniest thing I've ever seen.

#327- Do you think that explicit sex scenes should be kept out of general literature?
For example, do you think that it cheapens a murder mystery, horror, sci-fi book, historical fiction, etc. when such scenes are laid out in full detail vs. using a fade to black method that, while including the encounter for story purposes, does not go into every detail on a move-by-move basis. Of course there are some books where this is kind of the point- romance novels, books where the story revolves around the sex trade or something like that. But do you prefer, in literature where that is NOT the emphasis, that they skip the details because it detracts from the story, do you not care and not find that it detracts, or does it add a realism that enhances the story for you?

#327- Do you think that explicit sex scenes should be kept out of general literature?
This is a question whose answer I look at on a case by case basis. I have read (or listened to recorded books) many books where the scene by being fully played out and described in the end was a turning point in the entire storyline. I have conversely read many where it was in there for for the shock factor and to me in the end degraded the entire story for having that scene played out that way.
I think this question can go further in looking at murder, exploitation and other types of graphic scenes that may not be central to the story, but may or may not end up being truly relevant to the main plot of the story.
To me, most times these scenes need not go into the full detail, but if there is a true point related to the story line which may not be visible to the point reached it adds. Off the top of my head I truly cannot think of any that I have recently , or know so well, that have this, but I know I have read many this way.

#327- Do you think that explicit sex scenes should be kept out of general literature?
I think this is a very subjective question. On a general broad scale, I'd say no. A detailed sex scene is no more distracting than...... say, a scene where in very specific detail a soldier disassembles, cleans up, and reassembles his assault rifle. Depending on the writing, the genre, and the place in the story where this is taking place, it may break the pace, but generally speaking I don't think it does.
Of course, if the scene is too long, it will cause some problems, so dedicating 3 chapters to it, can indeed affect the quality of the book in question, but having a descriptive sex scene is not something I feel affects the story too much.
I suppose it could if its sex of an orientation you're not compatible with, (for example, a straight man, or homosexual woman, reading a book that at one point contains a very detailed male gay sex scene) but this depends far more on the person reading the book, rather than the book itself.
Of course, over-used sex scenes WILL ruin any form of fiction, be it books, games, movies, etc. Its ok if its a few scenes, but if every other chapter, the characters are boinking in full explicit detail, this is gonna ruin the book.

Nope; might as well leave it in, since as seen by that toilet paper 50 Shades of Gray, it's what people want.

General literature? I don't know what that means.
However, the question isn't really that straight forward. Should the government, or society, enforce upon those who write, their will? Nope. Should writers choose to include these sorts of things? I don't see why. There isn't a lot to be gained. It isn't enlightening, unless you are 13. Don't work to keep it out, but don't work to keep it in either. Maybe there are people who get something out of that. If so, more power to them, I guess. But, I just can't think of any books that would be improved by sex scenes. Much like movies, it wouldn't make Star Wars better to have a porn scene between Leia and Han, nor would Lord of the Rings be better to watch Sam and Rosie Cotton getting down. Should it be illegal to film it? No. But, should it be included in "general movies"? I just don't understand why it is needed, or helps movies.

I should have specified that I was thinking about it from the stance of whether it should be added on the grounds of artistic merit, tastefulness and morality, vs. whether or not it should be censored by law. I don't think there is anyone on this board who would be in favor of government censorship in books- maybe warnings about the contents to keep them away from kids but not actual censorship.(##RESPBREAK##)8##DELIM##ElhonnaDS##DELIM##

Then no. I don't find it tasteful to read about hot sex in the middle of my fantasy books, poetry, or history. Those seem to be the main three things I read.

If it adds something significant or has value in any way, be it to aid storytelling and character development or whatever, then I have no issue with it. Shouldn't have to go out of your way to make sure the characters get naked with each other for no reason though, in my opinion.

Yep.
A sex scene just for the hell of it would detract from the story. Specially if its ultra-detailed.
But as something that can be worked on and is actual part of the plot, I don't think it would be a bad thing as long as its not overdone (too extensive, or too frequent)

I would tentatively say yes. Not that I'm supportive of censorship, but really, I think nearly any artistic statement you're trying to make can be done so without explicit sexual acts. Even works commenting on the nature of sex can and have done so through metaphor, symbolism, and subtlety.
It just seems like explicit sex only takes away; I can't think of a single instance in which it would add to a works artistic value.

I dunno. I find 50,000 Shades of Gray more likeable.
Also, I prefer it in the way authors like Goodkind handle it (often implied more than anything), but as for keeping it out? I don't care.

Hot steamy sex should stay in the romance novels.
I think light heavy petting (er, contradiction?) is fine within any literture, without the wet deets.
